🎞Ohskennón:ten Owí:ra (Little Deer)- On Christmas Eve, 1967, two young Indigenous girls are forced to battle the elements, confront their darkest secrets and work together in order to return home to their families after a daring escape from the Mohawk Institute Residential School. This harrowing coming-of-age story was developed with survivors of the Mohawk Institute and is based on their real experiences. This film is a story about the resilience of Indigenous youth, the power of friendship, and the intergenerational impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous people and communities. Set in the early days of the pandemic, TRIAGE is a claustrophobic pressure cooker and exploration of who we truly love when our worlds fall apart. 🎬 🎉Director David Rendall is a Toronto-born artist and filmmaker living in Picton, Prince Edward County. His narrative work includes the award winning short - Triage (2024) that has screened across Canada and internationally (including: Portugal, Russia & the US). He is currently in post-production on the OAC funded short animated documentary - Today is a Gift about the holocaust in Romania. It will be premiering at Kingston Canadian Film Festival (early 2025). He's in development on another short - Shelter Valley (2026) and runs the production company Heliograph Pictures. Check out the trailer for 'Carousel of Time' premiering at the Vox Popular Media Arts Festival on Saturday September 9th! 🎠 “The Carousel of Time” is a historical documentary about the restoration and preservation of a 104- year-old carousel located in Thunder Bay on the shore of Lake Superior.
