Building a boat with kids, means everyone has something to contribute m. That might mean being a tool gopher, or it might be holding the camera. On this day, Eve got to be camera lady, and she did a bang up job.

I panic bought a 25 foot sailboat in 2021. It was sight unseen, rumoured to work, but not in the water when we bought her. This is her, her name, Ventoso- aka the wind in Spanish. We have yet to splash her, but this year will change that. The motor is on the boat, soon will be in the boat and then we can start sailing. Who needs a motor to sail anyway? It’s only for coming into land that you “need it” and even then, and will tell you engines are totally optional.

Water in a boat isn’t the end of the world, but it’s also not a good thing. Opening up the build for the season, we were disappointed to see water in the bilge. I had hope last fall would be the last time I had to pump the bilge out.

We are finally back to boat work after losing our hooped shed structure over the winter. Now, the monumental task of getting this 48 foot sailboat watertight begins, starting with the cockpit. We've been at it for months now, but in this episode, we finally get this section of the boat glassed in. In real time, we are working on body filler and prepping for paint, so we can get the hatches and port lights back in before it rains anymore on us. For anyone who has suffered from sciatica, you'll understand the pain of boat yoga and why this video has taken me months to release.
Let me know in the comments of the video what you think. Good and bad, for better or worse, we want to hear your thoughts.
