World Cancer Day 🌎
“Grief is the price we pay for love.”
I never seem to have the right words to fully express my thoughts and feelings toward Paul and just how deeply I love him. Walking alongside him during his cancer journey over the past 4+ years has certainly brought its fair share of grief. It’s inevitable. Seeing your best friend go through grueling and unfair experiences in life is heartbreaking. If you have a loved one battling a terrible disease, you’ll understand this — it’s something very hard to bear.
However, I am forever grateful that he chose me to be his wife, best friend, and war buddy. Life can be seriously unbearable sometimes, BUT I truly mean it when I say that I’d pay the price of grief over and over again if it meant I got to experience this extravagant, unimaginable love we have for one another! He’s the frickin’ coolest dude I tell ya!
This day is a big one in the world, and it can bring up a lot of emotions for people. It can bring sadness as we reflect on our own circumstances but also become aware of the millions of people battling and walking this harsh road. It can also bring hope as we read countless testimonies of people being cured and experiencing the freedom that comes with that. It’s a day of awareness — ways to prevent and detect. It’s also a day to honor lives and celebrate their resilience! And let me tell you, it takes A LOT of it!
So please, join me as I pray my tooshie off tonight for all those affected by cancer, along with their families, friends, healthcare workers, and caregivers. Be extra compassionate and patient with one another, because you really don’t know what people are carrying. Trust me, it goes a long way ♥️
