I wish people would learn that you can also do this with your phones and not just actual cameras.

Portrait or Landscape.
Tall or Wide.

Depends what you want to do.

Standing object or faces use Portrait.
Wide from left to right or right to left use Landscape.

These are not set in stone do what you must to take the picture.

If you plan on taking an image of the outside of a building, the inside of a room, or a parking lot etc. These are normally wide angles and you would normally use Landscape mode.
