Does anyone remember the "Famous Almond Dipping Sauce" from my food programs? This is my favourite way to eat it. With a big pile of fresh salad rolls, stuffed with fresh herbs and veggies.
I prefer almond sauce over peanut sauce, which is usually overly sweet and has too strong a flavour. I don't even find this sauce requires sweetness added to it. It's well-balanced, a bit spicy, tangy, and yum!
1 Tbsp grated ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
2 Tbsp almond butter
1 lime, juiced
1 Tbsp Tamari or coconut aminos (optional)
1 tsp chili flakes
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 Tbsp fresh cilantro leaves or stems, chopped
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup water (for thinning)
Place ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth
