Saturday May 27th, Andre Bourassa from Hazard Controls, will be in Newfoundland to conduct a demonstration of F-500 encapsulating agent.
F-500 EA is a wetting agent that replaces hazardous foams for fire suppression. Unlike many firefighting foams being used today, F-500 is a biodegradable fluoride free agent that is not harmful to the environment, people, or wildlife.
Torbay Fire Chief Rodney Gaudet will be hosting the live fire piece of this demonstration on their training ground in Torbay. Andre will demo the F-500 encapsulating agent in multiple fire scenarios as well provide product information on site.
The unique properties of F-500 Encapsulator Agent, make it one of the most versatile firefighting agents available. Unlike foam which must form and maintain a perfect blanket to separate the fire from the oxygen, the F-500 EA Spherical Micelle technology encapsulates the fuel and vapors on a molecular level, rendering them nonflammable. This makes F-500 EA the perfect solution for three-dimensional fires. F-500 EA is recommended for Class A, Class B (polar and nonpolar), Class K, Class D and Lithium-ion Battery fires. There’s no need to inventory Class A, AFFF and/or AR-AFFF foams and specialized agents for Class D fires.
