Blooming Media Update • I started working a new full time job with Health PEI as a Youth Addiction Counsellor back in January, and with that Blooming Media has slowly returned back to my side hustle (as originally intended).

I am no longer offering social media services, however my protégé Ashley MacDonald may be able to help you! She’s been killing it over at Points East Coastal Drive and I’m very proud of her ❤️

I still have around 10 websites with small businesses in rural PEI and am open to chatting with anyone looking for a fresh web presence! Hit me up if you need a new website 👌

I’ve been pretty quiet over here at Blooming Media PEI and this article explains exactly why. Lack of childcare in my community means I can’t work full time right now. Thankful for Amber Dennis and Jordan for providing this much needed service to our community and families, Alec can’t wait to start!

I’ll be more available for website work and social media services in September if anyone is in need.

The owners of a restaurant in Souris, P.E.I. have come up with a unique way to stay busy during the traditionally slow off-season: by offering after-school care to children in the area.

This is the first website I ever did independently! Yes, it’s for my dad… but it planted a seed of self employment that brought me to where I am today!

I may be on maternity leave for now, but I’ll never refuse a website update for any of my existing clients > hence the “modified maternity leave” as I like to call it!

Doing a few website updates this evening for Bruce Bros. Charters👩‍💻

Over the last year and a half, I’ve helped launch or maintain around 12 local businesses' websites... I'm pretty proud of that, to be honest.

Since I’ve been posting a bit more around here lately, I've had a few website inquiries…. & it pains the overachiever in me to turn anyone away, but I’m not planning on any new websites while on maternity leave.

I’ll be focusing on being a beach bum with my babies this summer and finally getting around to launching my site. I’d like to dedicate this time to learn more coding and photoshop, in between baby cuddles and tummy time of course.

… & probably get back to having fun with social media here again instead of it always feeling like a chore. Time to apply those growth strategies to my account finally, instead of just my clients!

Elliot Bruce MacDonald is now 5 days old ✨ Adjusting to the newborn life and nursing like a champ.

Mumma is feeling surprisingly well, and id say about 90% back to normal. It's amazing what our bodies can do!

Blooming Media is obviously on a bit of a hiatus for the next while, as I take my “modified” maternity leave. Taking it all in while he's still tiny is my top priority right now. Stay tuned for a more adorable baby pictures ❤️

Isolation Day #2 - Happy to report that our family has all received a negative covid test result! Regardless we’ll be back in for retesting two more times over the next two weeks, and will be free to roam again on the 20th of December. My heart goes out to all the parents with positive test results and young children at home today - may the extra cuddles help with symptoms, and pray they stay minor.

On one note, I’m happy I got our Christmas shopping done early this year 🤦‍♀️

My pride and joy Monstera Deliciosa💚

I’ve gotten a few questions lately as to why I named my media company “Blooming Media PEI”, it’s not hard to understand when you discover that I have around 50 + houseplants in my little bungalow home. I’ve always had a fascination with houseplants and flowers, and it translated into my business name as well.

Few years back I ran a hobby Instagram account .plant.lady , where I obsessively posted a daily greenery photo. I eventually let it go dormant as I started taking over small business accounts and getting back to full time hours after covid. I love the peace that my plants bring to my daily chaotic life, and may just start sharing a few more of these lovely shots here 🌱

Welcome to my couch - my new home office! My coworker, Theo, is very happy about this arrangement.

As with the seasonality of PEI, since the Visitors Information Centre for Points East Coastal Drive got shut down for the winter, I’ve relocated back to my home office… aka the couch this time around because my 7.5 month pregnant ass hates computer chairs!

Comforts of home and the flexibility has been great for me at this stage of my pregnancy, and gave me the liberty to be able to paint a green accent wall on my down time this week … next up? Painting the baby room and finishing a bunch of website updates!
