29 Takes 5 minute cell phone challenge 2021
Here it is bigger and better. Now with 16 spots.
Official rules:
-Films must be shot using a cell phone camera
-No film can be longer than 5 min including credits
-All films should be shot in landscape mode at 1080 or higher resolution.
-Any sound recording equipment is fine
-Every production team must include a person 18 or under who has a major role- actor-director-asst. Director- D.O.P - writer
-No person can participate in more than two films, even as background.
-While you cant be in more than two films you CAN lend equipment to another film group.
-all films must have an accompanying film poster
-all films must be completed and handed in via google drive by March 8th
-no nudity or swearing
-all films must have the catchphrase, Won’t get fooled again, used in the film visually or heard.
-after the festival is over the festival will be removed online and the owners of these films can do with them as they see fit.
-you will only be considered as a participant in the challenge if you have been registered by emailing brent at [email protected]. Your name will be added to 29 Takes Productions page contest selection and thus be entered.
-we have three very qualified mentors. Feel free to ask for help.
-You must be Covid safe. It is encouraged you run your script idea past a mentor so they can guide you on this. This is very important.

1) Contest availble to Vancouver island and Coastal Island residents.
2) 12 spots available.
3) All films must be under 5 min. in length
4) To apply for a spot you must register by emailing [email protected]
5) We will update the entry list. If you do not see your name on the list you have not been registered.
6) No gratuitous violence or nudity
7) Participants must be able to have their projects in by March 31 which includes a film and a poster.
8) Films will be shown on the big screen at the Vic theater Saturday,April 11th.
9) All genres of films accepted. Music video's too.
