This year's Sherwood Park Highland Gathering nearly doubled in attendance over the previous year.
The July 22/23 weekend saw more than 13,000 attendees, exhibitors, volunteers and participants at Broadmoor Lake Park. It also collected almost $1,000 in cash donations and almost 2,000 pounds of non-perishables for the local food bank.

Strathcona County RCMP officers responded around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 9 to the call of a vehicle fire at the property near Range Road 233 and Township Road 514. A body was found after extinguishing the blaze.
