I used to think that abundance was something for other people. When Jay and I both walked away from our former lives, we left relative abundance behind us.It was a conscious choice - and a significant moment in both of our healing journeys - but with that choice came an unspoken agreement to accept a life where money would need to be thought through carefully, every step of the way.Recently, through Money Mindset seminars, the reading of books like "Think and Grow Rich", and the collective belief of those within our incredible Freedom community that money can come with ease and flow, we have been doing the work to shift our relationship with money. We have chosen to rewrite our money story:To believe ourselves worthy of abundance. To hold the vision of this abundant life and take conscious steps in that direction. To hold the belief that abundance can come without trading time for money. To dream big, and allow the energies of that dream to flow into all we do.We have chosen not to settle. Not to settle for money being HARD.Not to settle for life lived in the fringe moments. Not to settle for 'just barely paying the bills'.Not to settle for anything but 'family first'.It's not easy to choose differently. But at the same time it is so refreshing to hold a vision filled with possibility, hope, and freedom. And even more refreshing to hold that vision with a concrete way forward: A method for delivering that freedom into our lives that feels SO ALIGNED that it is almost uncanny.Curious about our journey?Ready to NOT SETTLE?DM "I'm ready" to find out more!#onlinebusiness #freedombusiness #timefreedom #timefreedommoneyfreedom #locationfreedom #workonyourphone #workfromhome #workfromanywhere #workfromanywheremom #workfromanywherecouples #affiliatemarketing #affiliatemarketer #affiliatemarketingbusiness #mamapreneur #papapreneur #workfromwifi #consciousentrepreneurship #heartcentredentrepreneur #dontsettle #moneymindset #moneymindsetshift
What would society look like if…
There are people that think we are crazy for having no screens with the kids.
"Really? NO screens?"
Let me tell you something: I put on 1 show ONCE when C was two. I was 36 weeks pregnant with T and was sick as a dog. He watched 20 minutes of something and I PAID for it for the rest of the day. And the next. And many more after that.
I hadn't felt good showing it to him in the first place, but I overroad my intuition and let it happen.
It’s crack. Screens that is. Children’s crack.
He was like an addict. And it was SO obvious to me why giving him more would have FELT like the solution.
But I didn't. I held the boundary and eventually he forgot about it.
So let me answer your questions. 'Cause I know they are there.
What do they DO and HOW do we do it?
The kids play outside.
We do things together as a family.
We read. Lots. All together. Solo. Audio Books.
And HOW do we get anything DONE?
Well, good question. A lot of the time, things don't get done. And that's something that is a continual work in progress. But we do 'adult things' in the moments where they are sunk deeply into their play and we fill our cups when they have quiet time (i.e., during napping, audio books, or solo play).
To me it is worth it. To protect their brains. To allow neural pathways to grow and develop in healthy and 'normal' ways. To encourage creativity. To decrease the amount of crap media messaging (aka brainwashing) that they receive about their bodies, the world, societal values that we don't agree with or subscribe to, etc. etc. etc.
Now please don't get me wrong. Screens CAN be used in beautiful, connected and informed ways. But for most people, screens are a babysitter. They are a boredom soother. They are viewed as 'innocuous' rather than addictive. As normal rather than as an unhealthy learned behaviour.
So we are choosing differently. Choosing to support creativity and nature connection as well as presence in their day-to-day. Choosing the path that doesn't al
Knowing what we want is SO important. We can't move toward something that we haven't yet defined. And most of us have only a vague idea of what we really want. It's not crystal clear. In fact, it's often limited by our own beliefs about what is actually achievable for us. We think small and therefore live small. When Jay and I first started our Freedom Business, we created a manifesting board/poster for our dream life. At first it was hard - Not only were we dreaming small, we were also editing our dream because of what we thought was more or less acceptable. But eventually we got into flow and we put it all in: From the 100 acre property with a river and waterfall to the cold plunge/sauna to the retreat centre space (to hold breath work ceremonies, sacred space for birthing mamas, etc.) to the cars that Jay wants to drive. We found images, printed images, added words and quotes...we dreamed big and let it all be made visible on our board. Now we have a visual of what we are moving toward. Which is important because images are particularly powerful... they work with the subconscious in a way that words don't. So this is an invitation to share your dream life. What would it look like? Can you make a visual of it?
