We are prepping for the next stage of the kitchen/main floor project. Comparison is so tough sometimes, especially in this fast paced DIY world of the gram. I just want to give a little recap to our kitchen project. What’s not shown were the in between projects that happened along the way. Remember Home Takes Time ❤️
Swipe to the end to see the next project! Follow along our home renovation.

Edmonton Trip ~ without the kids.
We had such a great weekend away. It’s been about 9 years since we travelled here. We drove up Friday night, it’s about a 6hr drive. Hubby had never heard of structube or Bouclaire Home. We hit up ikea on the first day as well as some of the outlet/box stores. Saturday night was date night at Mayfield dinner theatre. Sunday we spent most of the day before heading home. We managed to get a good chunk of Christmas shopping complete.
Have you been to Edmonton before?

Just dreaming up the possibilities. This weekend I organized and emptied out the storage space of the Speakeasy. There’s actually a good chance that most of you might not know about it. I renovated this space Spring of 2023. I had around 2000 followers.
I’m still in the planning stage. So help me out in comments.
What would you design this bonus expansion to be?

September Fall Favourite’s —> BTS (when we are not projecting). The garage build & house sale has kept us busy this month BUT it’s so important to make time for everything else. We are closing out September at the farm. Which we’ve actually been able to sneak away to almost every weekend this month.

I’m grateful for:
🍂Our home away from home “the farmhouse”
🌅 They don’t call Saskatchewan “the land of the living skies” for no reason. Sunrises, sunsets, and northern lights spoiled us this month. I’m a sucker for all 3.
🍁 Spending time with the hubby in some fields.
🌾 First time driving a combine. I haven’t driven one before. Put 2 full days in helping my parents harvest.
💕My girlies.
🎉 September is my birthday month & my youngest’s too.
🥂 Going to the .harris event with in celebration of our birthday. We haven’t celebrated together for a long time. 👯‍♀️

What have been some of your September highlights???

We’ve got power! Electrical is officially hooked up in the garage and cleaned up in the house & speakeasy!! Thanks to the guys over at S2 Electrical Contracting

We decided it would be best to invest in changing out the main house panel to be able to get power out to the garage. This was such a big item to get checked off the garage build list!
If you are needing any electrical work done, I highly recommend requesting a quote today over at www.s2electricalcontracting.ca

July 📸 Sharing a bit of the BTS of April Justine home. I had a pretty big caption written and insta didn’t post it 😬 10 photos wasn’t enough, might have to go with a weekly drop.

Here’s a bit of what July looked like for me:
- Finished the garage exterior and it passed inspection
- Started digging for utilities, sourcing trades, and resided the shed
- Celebrated 18 years 💍 & our oldest turned 12!
- Lake, Family, and Friends
- Warman Parade & Fair 🎢
- Saskatooning
- Memorial for my grandparents at the farm.
- Attended Bella Brave’s funeral 💔🦋🪽
- Finishing with Winnipeg family visiting.
- I’ve also been busy with some property management for some of our rentals.

It feels weird that we didn’t get to take the camper out this July. What is something you are looking forward to for August?

Celebrating 18 years married ✨ Time sure does fly. Apparently blue is the colour and porcelain is the theme/gift of celebrating 18 years.

I also missed sharing our 20 year graduation, so swipe for some throwbacks. We started dating in 12th grade. 🥰

There’s no where else I’d want to be snowed in 🫶🏻. For the first time in forever, my school division has declared a snow day for tomorrow. We are currently snowed in at the farm.
We celebrated the life of my grandma this weekend. 💛February was a tough month. I’m grateful to have had the chance to grow up next to grandma and grandpa’s house. The freedom to run to grandma’s and visit whenever we wanted. There was a good chance of snagging some “leftovers” soup for lunch. I’ll always remember the abundance of flowers in the garden, where my love of gladiolus came from. I will hold onto the memories of shelling peas on the deck, even if we ate more than what went in the bowl. There was always a dessert to look forward to. My grandpa enjoyed canned fruit with buttered bread, but I also remember the pies, cherry delight, trifles, and a good ole ice cream cone 🍦

Thankful to have had grandma’s house as our little getaway house and that I have those memories to hold on to.

Have you been keeping safe in this snow??
