🚨 PLAYER SIGNING 🚨

We are thrilled to announce that Gavin Hart, from Truro, NS, is joining the Amherst Senior Hockey Club!

Gavin is one of our territorial players coming back to where he belongs. Gavin grew up playing minor hockey for the Truro Bearcats and had a successful junior career with them and the Halifax Mooseheads. Last year, he showcased his skills with the River Valley Lumberjacks.

We are excited to have Gavin join us this year. His fun and tenacious hockey style will make him a fan favourite.

MORE HUGE NEWS HAWKS FANS!

We’ve locked in our starter for next season ! Jason Rioux joins us as our goalie import after having an excellent season with the river valley lumberjacks . Rioux was a brick wall in the playoffs , and we look forward to having him in our crease this season ! Rioux played 3 seasons with the Moncton wildcats and a handful of games with the University of Moncton over 3 seasons . Keep your eyes peeled for more key signings!

GUESS WHO'S BACK?! 😮🔵🟡

We are thrilled to announce the return of 32-year-old Donnie Augustine to the Marauders! Donnie was with us two years ago but was only able to play one game due to an unfortunate injury.

Originally from Elsipogtog, Donnie played high school hockey at DRHS, making him a local player for us here in Dalhousie. He went on to have an impressive career, spending three seasons in the LNAH as an enforcer for the Riviere du Loup 3L and the Petroliers du Nord.

Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome back to Donnie Augustine! We are excited to have Donnie back on the team and look forward to his contributions on the ice this season. Welcome back, Donnie! 🏒💪

Heartbreaking news today with the River Valley Lumberjacks folding for the 2024-2025 season.

We at the podcast want to take a chance to thank Kenny Robinson and all of the ownership group in river valley for their support last season with us launching the podcast.

We also want to thank Tyson Donovan, and Jon Harty for coming onto the podcast and being so generous with their time.

We would also like to take a moment to thank the many river valley fans who have become good friends of the podcast. We certainly will miss our trips to Doaktown, especially the burgers!

On our first jr A card we’re excited to announce the signing of Brodie MacArthur ! Brodie had a successful junior career playing for the Summerside Western Capitals racking up 357 points in 196 games ! Brodie also played 5 games with the Moncton Wildcats and 3 games with UPEI . We’re excited to welcome Brodie to an excellent forward group as we look to load up and make a push for the title this coming season ! Amherst signs their import goaltender!

🚨 PLAYER SIGNING 🚨

We are thrilled to announce that the Amherst Senior Hockey Club has signed Matt Welsh from Halifax, NS!

Matt joins us after an impressive career with the Charlottetown Islanders in the LHJMQ and Saint Mary's University.

Over his 5 years in the QMJHL, Matt's career has been nothing short of remarkable. He made 224 career appearances and secured 125 victories, both ranking in the top 5 in league history. With 13,080 minutes played, he holds the record for the most minutes by a goaltender in QMJHL history. Matt is also among the top 10 in several other career goaltending stats, including shutouts, shots faced, and points scored.

Matt's excellence extends beyond the ice. He has been recognized for his academic and humanitarian achievements, being a two-time finalist and one-time winner of the Marcel-Robert Trophy as the QMJHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year. In 2018-2019, he was a finalist for the league’s Humanitarian of the Year for his outstanding work in the Charlottetown community.
