ER doctors in Quebec are seeing more and more cases of food poisoning, because they have eaten wild mushrooms that should have been left on the ground.

Taking extra precautions before going out foraging is something Sébastien Royer takes seriously, and is one of the main lessons he tries to impart on participants who sign up for his wild mushroom foraging course at the Massif du Sud regoinal park, in Chaudière-Appalaches..

He answered some questions from Breakaway producer Julia Page who drove up to the Massif for some tips.

Quebec City improv cellist Rémy Bélanger de Beauport is packing his suitcase and getting ready to move to New York for a 5-month residency at the Quebec Studio in Soho.

The Conseil des arts et des lettres has been funding these residencies since 1981, giving Quebec artists from different disciplines the chance to live in the unique artistic hub of New York.

"Childhood is a basic need, it's a human right," says clown hoping to create safe spaces for kids during his two-week trip.

This time next week a volunteer from Trois-Rivières, Que. will be entertaining kids and families in Ukraine— just a few hundred kilometres away from the frontlines of the war. He hopes to bring smiles and create safe spaces for kids dealing with trauma.

Ketchup chips are unique to Quebec and Canada- and harder to get it in the U.S. And that is one of the reasons that convinced a father and son to drive all the way from Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Niagara Falls, Ontario to stock up on some chips.

Rich and Jacob Lieberman have been travelling across the U.S. in a vintage, army jeep named Gertrude for several years now. 15-year-old Jacob is legally deaf and blind. His father says after going on their very first road trip a few years ago... they were hooked.

Jekyll (pictured here) and Simon are white sharks that are currently swimming around, and feeding, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. They were first tagged last December off the coast of Georgia by a team of scientists based in the U.S.

It is a priority for CBC to create products that are accessible to all in Canada including people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive challenges.

Revamping the Promenade Samuel-de-Champlain was one of the major projects the city of Quebec launched during the celebrations for its 400th anniversary, back in 2008.
Fifteen years later, the third and final phase of the project was finally inaugurated today. The Station de la Plage offers water games, a public beach with deck chairs and umbrellas, and a vast 1,500 square metre infinity pool overlooking the Saint-Lawrence River.

Singer-songwriter Yvan Pion wrote a song and recorded it with 40 elementary students in Lac-Mégantic to give the students " the opportunity to see what art can be — that it can bring people together."

Students at Notre-Dame-de-Fatima school recorded a song to mark a decade since 47 people were killed when a runaway train derailed and caught fire in their town of Lac-Mégantic, Que., to help the community work through their grief.
