Two weeks tomorrow. It’s been two weeks already and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t break crying remembering the last 38 years with you. I wish I could hug you and hear your voice and see your smile. I wish we could go to the hot springs again, I wish we could be sitting playing crib and coming up with the craziest ideas for T-Shirts. I wish I showed you how to wood burn. I wish the world could have you back. It’s so much emptier without you. Tara I miss you so much.

It’s clear that there is a need for the Canadian government, physicians, and specialists to gain a comprehensive understanding of mental health. This includes the who, what, when, where, and why of mental health issues. It’s crucial to question if any entity, apart from our government which has been criticized for its lack of knowledge, has reviewed the Nationwide Strategic Plan designed to assist those in need.

The language used in the plan seems to imply that individuals desire to have mental health issues,and that it will now be which is far from the truth. No one wishes to be burdened with such challenges. Therefore, it’s essential for the government to revisit their approach and make necessary amendments.

Like stop lying to us about how their are all these resources when there isn't. I dont think a 2.5 year waiting list for someone who has been having suicidal ideation, mixed with heart racing palpitations, mixed with intrusive thoughts mixed with nightmares that wake them up screaming and thrashing, who can not even leave there house 90% of the time because of fear of these episodes happening in public because the grocery store is too loud or too noisy or too hot and so on or so forth. 2.5 years to see a psychiatrist at $150 an hour and you may need them twice a week if not more...... How the F does that help that person IN THE NOW... Or how about the person with the trauma induced addiction who never touched a drug until their 30s because the loss of there loved ONES and yes that's plural, is so unbearable and they have no idea how to regulate their emotions, so they call and ask for treatment and they are met with " call back in two weeks" Seriously. The government is going to try and glorify this fu***ng rebranding.
This disgust me and makes me so upset that this is what the Minister of health thinks is an appropriately structured advance on Canadas mental health crisis.... Maybe take your fu***ng $118 million dollars that you "say your putting into the mental health sector" and instead of lining your fu***ng pockets with big fat bonuses and paying the way of immigrant workers, focus on research, educating canadian doctors and nurses and care staff and creating an actual plan, stop letting pharmaceutical companies pump out pills and prescribe them like candy.
The focus should be on educational materials and scientific studies. It’s also important to have empathetic interactions with those who are battling mental health issues daily. Understanding the root cause or the ‘why’ behind these issues is equally important.

Lastly, there is a pressing need for more doctors specializing in this field. This will ensure that individuals dealing with mental health issues receive the care and support they need.

2018-2024. That is when Canada really started to research mental health. This campaign is filled with so much bull s**t its unreal..

To those who meet her, she seems very much the beautiful soul, happy and carefree.
There’s a twinkle in her eye and a lightness to her laugh that many find irresistible.
Always smiling, she always seems to be the one that is the life of the party- gregarious, fun loving and free spirited.
And that’s exactly the person that she wants the world to see.
This old soul and loving hearted person has a very different side that she hides away behind the highest walls..
A part of her that’s saved her in so many ways on so many days that she doesn’t know how she’d ever survive without the warrior spirit and ironclad will that is the fuel for her fire.
She’s had to fight and claw through some of her toughest times, and she couldn’t do that as a delicate and bubbly flower..no, she needed something much different to rise out of the ashes of life’s fires..
She needed the heart of a warrior, unstoppable and determined…so, that’s what she became.
Not out of choice or desire, but out of necessity.
She did what she had to do to keep going, to emerge from the darkest days.
Most will never understand that about her, and they don’t have to.
Those closest to her- the ones that have her love, trust and confidence..
They know the dichotomy of this warrior wildflower..and they love her for every bit of her beautiful soul and courageous heart.
So, while the world applauds the wildflower, her people celebrate both parts of this wonderful woman.
She’s the toughest version of kind and beautiful..
She’ll inspire you, she’ll walk beside you, she’ll fight for you and most of all, she’ll love you unconditionally.
That’s the rare and beautiful thing that is a strong woman.

I grew up in Deep Bay , I never once questioned my mother's income or my father's!! It was never a discussion. We ate homemade meals consisting of meat, potatoes, and vegetables - (which were not an optional choice). No vegetables, no dessert!!! We never touched anything that did not belong to us. We never opened a refrigerator at anyone's house unless asked to do so. We were taught to respect other peoples property. And we were rewarded for acting properly.
We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped with all chores. We by no means were given everything we wanted. We went outside a lot to play, run with friends, play hide and seek, or went bike riding. We rarely just sat inside.
Bottled water was unheard of. If we had a Pepsi, it was in a glass bottle, and we didn’t break the bottle when finished. We saved the bottle for the return money.
We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and be home before dark..
You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW and you did not question it and you had better know it! We watched what we said around our elders and neighbors because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up, we would get a real good whooping, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline!
We held the doors for others and carried the shopping into the house. We gave up our seat for an older person without being asked.
You didn't hear swear words on the radio in songs or on TV.
“Please and Thank you", were part of our daily vocabulary!
The world we live in now is just so full of people who hate and disrespect others.
Friends, consider re-posting if you're thankful for your childhood. I will never forget where I came from and only wish children and people nowadays had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! And we were never bored!
