Just returned from a couple of incredible days spent at the Nation2Nation Events Women’s Gathering in Kitimat, on behalf of . It’s always such a joy to get to visit my hometown of Kitimat, getting to see familiar faces and make new connections. I also had the opportunity to speak on a panel with three other women on the topic of Family, Community, and Business, as well as catch a ride on an afternoon boat tour down the Douglas Channel with the other attendees. ⛴️ Thank you Lisa and the N2N Events team for the invite and putting on a wonderful event! 👏

Cheers to 5 years in business! 🥂 🎉 Today I am celebrating this huge business milestone and reflecting back on when I started Busy Boss Communications back in 2020, at the start of the Covid pandemic at home with my 1 year old daughter and an old laptop computer.

Fast forward 5 years later — countless hours, clients, posts, designs, emails, zoom calls, and meetings — and I’m still blown away at just how amazing this ride has been.

Not only have I been able to create a lucrative career out of something that I enjoy doing (which not everyone has the luxury of!) but this business has given me the opportunity to work from home on a flexible schedule where I can still be a full time parent - something that I will never take for granted!

I’ve learned so much, met so many incredible people, and had so many unique opportunities. I’m proud of how my business has grown in an organic and thoughtful way, by working with and helping businesses and organizations in our community and across the province that I truly believe in.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my business, reached out, worked with me, partnered with me, shared space with, taught me something, helped me, inspired me, or simply just followed along on the journey. 💛

Happy international women’s day! 💐 Yesterday I had the opportunity to join some incredible women for an event with my client and as an ambassador for to celebrate women in our community. These two organizations are doing such amazing things for women entrepreneurs both locally and across the province, and I’m so proud to be a part of it. I encourage everyone to reach out and show their support to local women business owners and all of the women in their lives today and every day! Let’s lift each other up! 🙌🏻

Our biggest fundraiser, Kiwanis AleFest, is just around the corner. This last month has just been non-stop marketing and promotions for yours truly - between social media, printing design, ads, tv and radio… but it’s all for a good cause: helping children in our community through grants, projects, and charitable donations. Our hardworking team is putting the final touches together and we’re looking forward to seeing you all next weekend for the festivities!

I was delighted to be asked to speak at the recent .wib networking event, where I had the opportunity to connect with an amazing group of professionals and chat about all things marketing. ✨

In my presentation we dove into how to reach new audiences on social media, improve your online reputation, and increase customer retention. 📈

A big thank you to .wib and the attendees for making the event so engaging. It’s always a pleasure to take part in meaningful collaborations such as this. 🤝

Proud to be part of this hard working team at Kiwanis!

Kiwanis AleFest was recognized as a finalist in the Attractions & Events category at the recent Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards ✨ It was great to see this popular event (now in its 9th year!) be recognized not only as a fun event, but for its impact in the community. Thanks to this event, local children’s chrarities receive grants for their programs, and the APAU unit at the hospital received a massive $100k + donation to improve their facilities for the youth in the North.

As marketing lead of the event planning committee for the past 3 years, I’ve seen first hand the absolute dedication and effort it takes for this incredible group of people (who are volunteers by the way!!) to put this event on every year. Proud to be even just a small part of something that plays such an integral role in the well being of our community.

Always grateful for the support from the chamber and our community 💛

Just returned from the Conference in Victoria last week. Such a fun, inspiring and relaxing time with some incredible women. Especially loved hearing from from , as well as from the wonderful books, from IT Cosmetics, and the panel with and .laliberte legit made me cry.

Proud to be a part of the committee this year as the Marketing & Communications Lead for this years Kiwanis AleFest. I had so much fun creating the signage, programs, social media, and promotions for this sold out event!!

Such a good feeling to see it all finally come together this past weekend after months of preparation and hard work by our team, volunteers, and vendors. It was wonderful to see so many people come out and support this event which raises funds for local children’s charities as well as the Ronald McDonald House BC.

Looking forward to doing it all over again next year! 😉
