I'm getting excited! On Monday, October 28, Pieta Woolley and I will attend the Jack Webster Awards in Vancouver where I will be presented with the Shelley Fralic award for journalism and for making the community of Powell River and qathet a better place. The Webster awards celebrates excellence in journalism to protect the public interest for British Columbians and I am honoured to be chosen to accept this award on behalf of the residents of qathet who are the reason why the "Fiercely Independent" qathet Living community magazine has thrived at a time when many publications have not. I'm a a bit nervous looking at the list of who will be there accepting other awards that night! Thank you for believing in my dream all those years ago and thank you for your support for the last 19 years. None of this would have been possible without my wonderful team of Sean Percy, Pieta Woolley, Suzanne Marineau Wiebe, Lauren Diemer, Lisa Beeching, Ann Nelson, Roberta Pearson, Dwain Davis, and everyone else who been there for us. Thank you to , for helping us attend the awards. Sometimes words are not enough so I will just say thank you.
