Exciting news for our fall waitlist!

Last Monday, on the same day, IxChel & Rumer of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery both had their babies!

Rumer has 2 boys and 1 girl and all three are thermals. Thermals means that they’re almost white at birth but their extremities darken as they grow and get older. Just like those old polaroid pictures… 🙂

Ix Chel had 3 girls and all are torbies. Torbie is a tortie (black/chocolate/cinnamon plus red) with tabby markings. Two girls are chocolate torbies and one is black (brown) torbie and although they look like just tabbies right now, they’ll develop some more red spotting as they grow. I don’t think they’ll have a lot of red on them though, as adults.

All kittens are doing well and are growing rapidly. And as always, all kittens are under observation until cleared by our vet on their first visit.

And with litter A2 & B2 on the ground we’re concluding fall breeding season 🙂

Wowza. We just attended our 1st and hopefully annual HCM scan clinic in Whitby Ontario. We had our young queens’ (Talia, Uma & Xella) & retired stud’s Hugo Boi hearts scanned by a board certified cardiologist and all went well. We have 4 healthy hearts.

All of our previous scans were done at the VEC & CVAH so it is nice to get a better price on the scans and be able to talk directly with the cardiologist and ask questions!

HCM is sometimes called the ‘silent and deadly killer’ as there may be no symptoms until it’s too late. It is recommended to scan breeding cats (from HCM prone breeds like sphynx & devons) yearly so that HCM lines can be eliminated and to scan pet cats in their year 1,3,5,7 for early detection and heart disease management.

That being said, can we guarantee that our cats will be HCM free for life? NO. And nobody can, even though they may say so. We certainly do our part in trying to eliminate the genetic component in our lines but stress free environment and properly balanced and species appropriate feline nutrition (especially during their first year of life) is extremely important in any disease prevention.

It’s a bitter-sweet time again when our kittens start to leave for their forever homes… On Saturday, we dropped off the first of Y litter kittens of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery - at the Pearson airport. His dad flew from NS to pick him up and now Yoshi will live in Halifax with his new purrfect family.
Farewell sweet kitty! We’ll miss you. ♥️

Vet visit for a health exam and second booster today. All kittens did fantastic. They were well behaved and got clean bill of health.

Hugo Boi was due for his annual checkup so he cought a ride with his grandchildren… yes grandchildren - he is a very young grandpa 😂

Congratulations to Alex on his new furry family member. Yoshi of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery will be travelling to Halifax when ready to leave our cattery.

Yoshi is a red mackarel tabby boy with very entertaining personality. He is even a bigger boy at 12 weeks and 3lbs 8oz than Yumi!

Great news today for people waiting for Fall kittens… both, Rumer & Ix Chel of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery are pregnant and due in the next 2.5 weeks.

All Ix Chel’s boys will be red and girls black or chocolate torties.
All Rumer’s kittens will be pointed.

Vivi of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery had an amazing CCA cat show weekend at the Motor Cat Club in Whitby, Ontario. She scooped up 7 out of 8 kitten BOBs (best of breed) and made all 7 kitten finals for those rinks. She competed against 4 other beautiful devon kittens and roughly 25 kittens of all breeds.
Uma of TrilliumDRX made it to one final in Championship class, this time around.

Both girls were very well received by all the wonderful CCA judges and were given tons of positive feedback. I’m so very proud of them!

Lastly, big heartfelt thank you to all that took their time and came to visit us at the show to show support! It was so great to see you all!

Vivi of Trilliumdrx Devon Rex Cattery had a great day today at CCA cat show in Whitby (kitten class).
She swept 3 out of 4 BOBs and got 3 Finals nominations. She finished as 4th, 7th, 8th best kitten out of all short hair kittens in those 3 rinks.
So proud of my little girl! 💗 💗 💗

Litter Z is almost 2 weeks old and all kittens are chocolates (chocolate solid, chocolate tabby, chocolate tortie). Probability of Miley & Henry having a chocolate kitten was 9% and here we are with thee chocolate babies…

And some bad news today too…
Unfortunately, we lost our little mink boy shortly after birth due to an accident - his mom rearranged her bed in the middle of the night (after my nightly check) and he ended up under her. It’s heart breaking when it happens 💔 It’s heart breaking when anything happens to those very fragile kittens. 💔 Breading is hard!
RIP little buddy.

Kittens are almost 9 weeks old and after their first vet visit. All healthy & at excellent weights (over 1kg for boys and 900g for girls).

Both girls are under observation until further notice, as possible keepers.
