Well hello there!
I was out hiking in the fresh snow and was surprised to come across this guy! I poked him (gently) a wee bit and was startled when he actually moved!

Wood frogs hibernate in leaf litter or shallow snow, where they survive by producing natural ‘anti-freeze’ in their bodies. But if there’s a sudden thaw (which there was a day or 2 prior to the snowfall) they might come out of their hiding spot.
