The fan-throated lizard 🦎

Aptly named, the males of this species have a brightly-coloured dewlap on their throats. This is primarily used for impressing potential mates and guarding territory from other males.

Geese landing just above the damn in Hanover, Ontario. This is new phone footage, not what I was working on a couple of years ago. It's a wonderful time of year to watch them coming and going as they migrate south, with lots of beautiful autumn leaves in the background.

Our budgie, Birdly

Geese landing just above the damn in Hanover, Ontario. This is new phone footage, not what I was working on a couple of years ago. It's a wonderful time of year to watch them coming and going as they migrate south, with lots of beautiful autumn leaves in the background.

My late wife, Darlene, created this page to put her animal fun-facts videos together in one place. The graphics are big for our youngest son, who is visually impaired, and other kids that could benefit from easy-to-read text. We created the videos together, but they were her babies. I suggested we do videos on some common animals in our area, like horses and Canada geese, but she was more interested in the exotic animals. (We did make one about groundhogs, so she was willing to compromise.) I started shooting video of Canada geese before she passed, but that was never finished. We never did anything about horses, but since I now drive through a lot of farmland for work seeing them made me want to take some pictures and video of them. Someday I want to get back to making videos for this page and our YouTube channel, but for now I hope this little phone video will do. Thank you to all our followers. I'm sorry I've made so little content this past year and a half.
