This event is coming up soon and you won't want to miss it!

CALLING ALL ARTISTS, ARTISANS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, BAKERS, CHEFS, ACTORS, MUSICIANS, POETS, WRITERS! Join us next Thursday evening! Meet and share ideas, create partnerships, and share opportunities with other creatives in Owen Sound! This monthly event is a wonderful way to meet other creatives in the area. Light refreshments will be provided.

For this first session, we ask that you create your own name tag and bring it with you to the session. What you make, and what you make it out of, is completely up to you! Incorporate a hint of your artistry in your name tag. This could be use of colour, imagery, design, etc.

The purpose of Artist Social events is to foster a social community of creatives. Our definition of creatives extends beyond the conventional idea of artistry. It encompasses all those who put time, creativity, and energy into their respective practice. We are open to those who view their art as: culinary arts, glass, fibre, graphic design, jewellery, digital art, among other disciplines.

We love these stories and this community!

🌟 Throwback to November 17 🌟

Back in November, I wrote a post about how proud I was to be featured in the same magazine, Rrampt, as my top chef inspiration, Roger Mooking. It was such an honour and a moment of pride for me. 💫

But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next.

On the last Saturday of 2024, while I was happily sharing my Mexican food at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market, I got the biggest surprise of my life— Mooking himself showed up at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market! 🎉 There he was, standing on the other side of my stand, asking for our very popular "crispy tacos." 🌮

I am beyond grateful for all the love and support from this amazing community, but this moment? It was truly unforgettable. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey and helping make dreams like this come true. 💕

I can now officially say: I can die in peace! 🥰

Syd danced the night away at Heartwood Concert Hall into the wee hours of this morning as a final night of celebration before they head back to the North Pole. Heartwood is a great venue to party, take in a show or hold a private event and it wouldn't be a trip to the River District for Syd without a night out with friends.

The elves at the north pole like to party and the hearing damage caused by years of parties has really added up. The staff at HEAR Owen Sound were kind, and made Syd feel very safe and supported through the entire hearing aid process.

Syd decided to stay at the Greystone Office Centre for a few days. Today they joined forces with the Savesight Vision Centre Elf to make sure the people of Owen Sound are taking their eyesight seriously. Syd also had an appointment and it turns out they need glasses to drive.

Syd had quite the day at The TMJ Clinic in the Greystone Office Centre on 8th Street East. Really got their hands dirty and joined the team. So far TMJ treatments have reduced Syds jaw clenching, headaches and help them sleep better, plus it feels really amazing!

Syd made you all a little unboxing video today while helping to put new merch out at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery! Perfect for that last minute gift. Find City of Owen Sound and Owen Sound Tourism, Events and Attractions merch at the TOM, Attack Box Office and City Hall.
