you know, ive had a nice year my dear 2024 of working with some stellar folks from all over the map and from all kinds of histories and i’m nothing short of honoured that people want to create sounds and make their songs with me here in the yard.
also and btw: i’ll be strumming and ramblings all weekend long with my hella handsome bandmates, so please do come say hi after if you see us at these shows.

i put some NEW 7” singles up for this last friday of 2024. bandcamp has been a pretty amazing place for myself and plenty of friends and music folks i know.
these little Combination 1 + 1 records are hand stamped and have vellum cover inserts (maybe i’ve said this already here).
they’re limited to 100 copies.
**extra terrific kind of pricy edition alert: im doing a second verision that includes personal cover art cause….
1: why not
2: i’m already making all the cover inserts so i can make ones for folks who love this and i genuinely have really enjoyed designing and printing and packing the covers. also: no way your partner of even your uncle doug wont think it’s awesome you got him a record like this
3: in this grassroots world i live in, i can do whatever i want i guess, and im getting super old and still love it all more than ever, so f**k it.
my bandcamp is easy to find btw.

all things being equal, i will be releasing 20 copies of the 7” for Combinations this friday for 2024’s last friday.
record cover insert is home printed on vellum paper and hand cut
records are hand stamped and i numbered a few of them all as 1/100 ;)
assembling these in batches as the labor is happening after the family is sleeping.

i’ll be selling them for about what they cost so if you wanna pay more, then you’re a champion.

Cam needs some help, see link to the gofundme in bio. Since I met him for the first time behind the Albert where we gathered to leave on the first Weakerthans tour in 1997, Cam has been my beloved, brilliant and exasperated sound engineer, mixer, editor, confidante, encourager and friend. I almost never went anywhere without him and when I did it was terrible. Cam folded his extra long legs into miserable airplane seats and drove me around in vans all over the world. Once he drove for three days to get us to a show at an ice cream stand on a beach in Spain where 7 people showed up. He spent uncountable hours at the controls in recording studios and venues listening to me sing the same songs over and over and over and making me sound smarter than I am. He’s under-appreciated and underpaid. Please give Cam some $ if you can so he can keep making Winnipeg sound better. Link in bio!

Mentioned this show a few weeks back and finally, (me so slow eh) we have tickets ready for launch this Friday morning.
Bringing the band and playing our local Stittsville Legion Branch 618 this December 15th for an afternoon show.
Will be join by the Carp Ridge’s own
This will be a seated show and tickets are limited.
Tickets are on sale this Friday at 10am.
Show is:
Sunday Dec 15
Doors at 3pm, show at 4pm.

spent my week here in the east Los Angeles neighborhood or Highland Park.
meeting and working with songwriters and helping with their great songs
this is now my second trip and i hope to return again
many thanks to for being the lightning rod and a constant promoter for me
also to for making songs and for stopping by with a song to work on.
also for offering such a terrific work and living space.
i feel quite fortunate to have this as my occupation and here’s to more ❤️👾🖖⭐️

i got to where i’m staying in east LA tonight right after the dodgers won the world series.

love that i’m here and i have this little recording cabin for the next week too.
fortunate moments indeed.

heres a nice picture of the studio before it was fully born from my noisy reliable backup drive.
pretty proud of this place and the 10 plus years now it’s been around.
i was gonna celebrate ten years in the spring but in very ME fashion i learned tonight that 10 years was last spring. oh well ❤️👾🖖🥳
we’ll be keeping on keeping on as the saying goes and many new things on the go here and a trio of records nominated for announced today that were made in this shed permitted space.
way to go . sure it’s not a competition, but being acknowledged does feel good and is helpful for all these folks.
that’s the report from the end of my day.
