It's not all bad news! A man finds a new way to deliver his restaurant to people, a musician creates a novel way to accept tips and a couple of very rare baby birds born at Chester Zoo.
And so it was that on March 29, 1845, a balmy Saturday 22 years before Canada became a country, a 29-year-old Irish immigrant gave Bytown "The Packet", its first liberal newspaper. Under the banner on Page One, Harris printed the words "Fair Play and Daylight", the paper's motto. One hundred and seventy-five years later, those words still appear in The Ottawa Citizen, the newspaper that grew from that four-page journal.
