In a troubling turn of events, the Philippine Congress has embarked on a protracted and seemingly orchestrated campaign to vilify Vice President Sara Duterte. The recent impeachment proceedings and the relentless investigation into the alleged misuse of confidential funds have exposed a dark and underhanded political agenda, spearheaded by House Speaker Martin Romualdez and his allies.
What stands out is the glaring double standard in the scrutiny applied to Vice President Duterte's tenure. The funds in question, reportedly originating from President Bongbong Marcos himself, have been the focal point of an aggressive investigation. Yet, the same level of scrutiny appears conspicuously absent when it comes to President Marcos and his allies. Furthermore, the speed at which the House of Representatives moved to impeach Vice President Duterte is alarming.
