You're a new immigrant to Canada and you want to start a business? Where do you turn to? What resources are available? As if starting a business in a country you know isn't difficult enough, imagine doing it while navigating new government systems, possibly a new language, new currency, new culture, etc.

Karla Briones wants to reduce the headaches for others that her family endured when they immigrated to Canada. She knows first hand what it's like to start a new life in a new country and the challenges involved.

She is a serial entrepreneur who seeks to make her adopted country a better place for all and her story is truly compelling.

You don't know what you don't know. And from my conversation with Emery Robichaud from Crypto Insights, I learned that I don't know anything about cryptocurrency.

Check out the new episode of the Crazy Courage podcast!

Emery has an impressive depth of knowledge and while we did touch on his story, I found myself taking advantage of speaking to an expert on the subject of all things crypto. With everything he knows, he's still humble enough to tell you that he doesn't know it all.

He may have let slip some hot tips and I left them in the episode. Shhhh!

If you build it, they will come. This only works for farmers in the 80's building baseball diamonds in their corn fields.

The rest of us actually have to work to find customers or our audience. I knew this, but I was a little naive when I started the Crazy Courage podcast. I figured that I had a great idea for a podcast and guests would be lining up to be interviewed and the audience would find me easily.

Guess what? It's not that simple no matter how good your idea. Podcasting is like everything else there's lots to know and there is competition. A lot of competition.

The most recent numbers estimate there are over 4 million podcasts. However, less than 8% of those podcasts have put out a new episode in the last 30 days.

The good news for podcasters: Listeners 13 to 64 are listening more to podcasts than they are to AM/FM radio. (data for Spoken Word Audio) For me, this means podcasting is trending in a good direction and I might be able to keep the building an audience if I keep working at it.

I'm happy to report my hard work and effort are starting to pay off. The audience is growing!

It's like every other industry. Hard work and effort will bear fruit (with the correct strategy). Nothing will fall into your lap.

A new episode dropped!

Behdad Jamshidi created a long overdue business model. CJAM Marketing solves the headache of finding the right marketing partners for your business. Finding the right marketing agency for your business used to be a shot in the dark.

We discuss how you have about a 1 in 20 chance of getting it right and it can take up to 2 years by the time it's finally sorted out.

I would say he expects his business to keep going in the right direction:
"I'm going to get to a point where people are going to have to spend a lot of money to use me."
