Howl studio takes the concept of Home Recording to the next level. Designed by Martin Pilchner, the renowned acoustician and studio designer known for his work in designing world-class recording studios, performance spaces, and broadcast facilities. Pilchner has been involved in designing studios for a wide range of clients, including recording artists, broadcasters, educational institutions, and corporations. His expertise lies in creating acoustically optimized environments that enhance sound quality and provide functional spaces for creativity and production- Howl Studio illustrates this expertise in every way.
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this exquisite property offers more than just living space—it boasts a state-of-the-art commercial grade recording studio right in the basement.
Imagine walking downstairs into a musician's paradise. The heart of this studio features a meticulously designed control room equipped with elegant and highly effective sound treatment and top of the line audio infrastructure ensuring pristine sound quality for your creative projects. Additional control room features include:
• Bass traps & other built in sound absorption panels
• Elegantly designed sound diffusion wall
• Built in custom desk for holding audio/control console (currently setup for Avid D-Command 24)
• Multiple built-in 19-inch racks for outboard gear and pre-amps
• Professional-grade custom bantam-jack patch bay, equipped with Mults, Tie Lines to various rooms in the studio and normalised mic panel connectivity to each recording room
• Sightlines to each recording area: Large double-pane glass into main live floor, glass sliding doors into each isolation booth
This studio comes complete with not one, but two isolation booths, each wired to perfection with mic panels and tie lines that connect directly to the control room. Having these isolation booths allows for complete separation when recording multiple sound sources at the same time. Need space to stretch your creative wings? The expansive live floor area, also wired with its own 16 channel mic panel and tie lines, offers ample room for bands, ensembles, or solo artists to perform and record with exceptional acoustics and comfort. The live floor features an area with hard wood floor and overhead sound absorption panels, which works great for controlled capture of sound sources with large dynamics like drums.

Beyond the main studio area, additional tie lines are placed in the washroom, the main storage area, and in the cement cold cellar (ideal for isolating amp cabinets), each equipped with their own dedicated panels, all seamlessly leading back into the central control room. This thoughtful design ensures every aspect of your recording process is streamlined, efficient, and optimised for unconstrained creativity.
