Meet King Djoser from my children's book, Imhotep of Ancient Kemet. He was so impressed by Imhotep that he made him the high priest. Not only did he make him the high priest, but he also elected Imhotep to be his vizier!
King Djoser's reign is known for undertaking the construction of the earliest important stone building in Egypt. The Step Pyramid at Saqqara; was built out of stone blocks rather than mud bricks under the guidance of the architect Imhotep.
The pyramid is still standing to date!

I want to show you that you can change the world.
All authors will tell you... we eventually fall in love with our books (babies). To us, no other book compares. We pour our heart and soul into every word, every illustration, and every detail until the book is ready for publication. But there is always a bit of doubt... A lingering feeling that, even after all the effort you've put into delivering your message as clearly as you can, it will not be received.
But then comes the moments like these. The Children's Book Council (CBC) selected my title, Imhotep of Ancient Kemet, as one of the best books for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for 2023.
I am SO pleased to have contributed to the world of science education by providing teachers with the story of a brilliant architect who designed the first pyramid, a man who also played a part in developing the medical system still in use today.
