Posted • On Indigenous Veterans Day, we honour and acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples who served or are serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Today, we remember the dedication and sacrifices of these First Nations, Métis and Inuit people. We remember the soldiers who never came home. We remember those who returned home forever changed by conflict. Lest we forget.

MRM is currently seeking to expand its volunteer editorial panel. Members of the panel strive to improve the clarity, coherence, consistency, and correctness of submissions we receive for publication. Excellent written and communication skills in English are required, as is a keen understanding of MRM’s target audience.

Our editors usually fulfill the following responsibilities:
* Removing unsuitable content from submissions.
* Supporting and working with authors in article development, clarity and other relevant feedback.
* Ensuring submissions meet the publishing guidelines.
* Fact-checking where appropriate.
* Ensuring submissions are properly referenced by the authors.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Workload varies per issue and is largely dependent on the availability of other panel members. Practitioner or enrolled student level expertise or experience in areas of TCM, acupuncture and herbal medicine are required.

Panel members are unpaid volunteers who share MRM’s vision to share knowledge for the purpose of professional development and the advancement of TCM as a safe and effective mode of healthcare in Canada and worldwide. If this is you, please send a cover letter and resume to: [email protected]

September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation here, in the place some call Canada. On this day, and in the 364 that follow, we invite everyone to participate in learning about the history of residential schools, Indian hospitals, and the many other colonial and racist practices enforced on indigenous peoples that have resulted in devastating impacts on life and culture. As we continue our efforts to address systemic racism in our communities, we have opportunity to listen, learn, connect and communicate more meaningfully and compassionately. We CAN build a better, more responsible and respectful world. We CAN address our biases and change our communities. We CAN learn to do better.
