Nelson’s Emergency Management Committee takes on Hazard, Risk and Vulnerability Analysis with community stakeholders and experts at the Nelson Fire Hall.

Our first meeting at the Nelson Fire Hall to do the Hazard, Risk and Vulnerability Analysis. The city’s Emergency Management Committee is working hard to protect Nelson residents from all sorts of risks. Wildfire is the most urgent, but not the only one. Climate change makes emergency planning more urgent than ever.

Interesting tidbit: The Canadian Mint is changing the weight of loonies and quarters. This is an issue for the city as the parking meters measure the weight of the coins dropped in to determine what value of coins were put in. The city has to look into the costs of re-calibrating their parking meters.
