I first fell in love with the trademark falls at Springside Park. The days when Napanee was renowned for its Walleye Derby and people lined the riverbank vying to catch the biggest walleye! I've always seen eye to eye with both pickerel and walleye fishermen. Living downtown, I am grateful to walk the boardwalk everyday catching a glimpse of Napanee’s iconic blue heron fishing for dinner at the ba
se of the falls. There are so many aspects that my wife of 29 years, my son and myself treasure in Greater Napanee and surrounding area. My son has been a part of the education system and recently graduated from Queen's University. He lives in Kingston with his fiancé and is getting married at an outdoor venue in September. I bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience to the role of councillor. As a carpenter, I have been involved in different facets of both residential and commercial sites, and I bring this knowledge to council. Experience farming in the region and being a vendor selling local produce expanded my appreciation of the importance of the Farmers Market. I will work towards bringing back a Farmers Market and further developing and enhancing community events for Ward 4 constituents. Most recently, I have started in a volunteer position as broadcaster on local radio, yet another experience that allows me to speak with local businesses and listeners in the area. I am campaigning for the role of Councillor in Ward 4. My first mandate is to address issues regarding garbage tags. I have already spoken with many constituents on my ideas that are important for keeping our town clean! I will be knocking on doors and sharing ideas with each of my constituents. I am always available to chat about issues that you would like to discuss. Send me an email at [email protected]
As campaigning begins, I look forward to meeting and representing you! I welcome this new challenge and am excited to jump in, make mistakes, get dirty and be a part of something great! Your most humble candidate,
Jeff Chestnut
