Tomorrow's job, hump 70lbs of bait 2kms up hill into the bush. Lay it out in front of both locations. Put the memory cards back in, change the trigger time and reset the time and date cause I did that wrong the first time. The stand should arrive Monday, then head in again to set up the 2nd stand, change the cards and lay more bait.

Woohoo! New trail cams came in the mail today. Saturday I head out to prep my area. Going to use my IHunter Apps to mark bedding and feeding areas as well as track my trail in and out to the stand. Going to blaze and clean the trail, clean out some shooting lanes and create an "obstacle course" to force them broadside 25-30yrds away. Going to head in once a week to drop 100lbs of cracked corn, 50lbs of apples and pull the memory cards.

New video up!

What happens if you’re on a trip and you find yourself in a survival situation, dehydrated and suffering from heatstroke? Would you or could you persevere? Or have you become complacent with modern tools? This is not a survival situation, but let’s see how I make out when I become dehydrated and get heatstroke and try to build a bow drill from scratch for the first time!

11 days, over 140km. Some days came easy, some days came hard. Spur of the moment side missions, adventures were had, mistakes were made, lessons were learned, blessed with weather, fish and phenomenal company. These photos don't even touch the surface of the time we had. I'm still in awe of the beauty we saw and the fun we had. The only word I can find to describe this trip and friendships are EPIC.
Josh Matt and Jake thank you for the memories.

We'll, opening weekend has come and gone. and I put in some serious work. Got to break in my new rod and reel and put my rain suit to the test. We weren't as lucky as some, but I did manage to land this beautiful Speck in a river we weren't expecting to see one. On Sunday we met up with and had a great time trying our hands at some stealhead fishing and although Josh and I had no luck, Liam landed a tank. Home for 3 days, then it's off to for 10 days!

ADDICTED. FULLY, COMPLETELY and I need to take a second to thank for getting me hooked and being there even when we ain't tossing lines hunting unicorns. Who would have thought that a message from a stranger on a long weekend would become family and turn into some of the greatest experiences in my life.

IT AIN'T MUCH, BUT IM BRAGGING LOL Woke up this morning to an email from AKD that my payment method had been approved and had a link to "check the status of my book". I'm blown away. The majority of the stats are meh, but I broke a hundo and it's ranked 70 out of 20,000+ WWHHAAAAATTTT???? I put it out there just to put it out there. Haven't paid for an Amazon promo/ad, just tossed it up on social. I never thought for second it would do well (mediocre really, but well for me lol) Especially considering it's not edited, it's not a proper book, most of it is gibberish and written during a mental breakdown. So, if you're reading this and you've read it and helped it break the top 100 THANK YOU! (If you haven't read it, links in my bio lol)

Spent a few hours today teaching Keeva how to get in and out of the boat from a "dock" and how to sit while the boat was rocking. Tomorrow I'm going to pack up a couple of backpacks and a food barrel and teach her how to get in and out with them in it and how to lay on them. Gonna try to this a few times this week and then maybe next week try it with the canoe in the water!

testing CAMP KITCHEN’s prototype stick-stove
I met Tyler and Kassy Scott, the owners and creators of CAMP KITCHEN at the Outdoor Adventure Show in Toronto this past February (2024). I very much enjoyed their company and our conversations. They had decided to hand out five stick-stove prototypes for testing as well as feedback on the product. I can't tell you how humbled and honored I was to be selected as one of the five.
THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC REVIEW OF THE FINAL PRODUCT. This video was made while I was testing their prototype and I loved it so much that I HAD to share it with you. By the time you are watching this video, I have used the stove three times and have had several great conversations with Tyler and Kassy regarding my experience with the stove. Below are the stove specs and all of CAMP KITCHEN’S social links and website (these ARE NOT affiliate links).
Please give them a follow and be sure to keep your eyes out for the official launch of their products.
