Lexum is a software company that provides products and services to legal information users as well as various other organizations and companies that prepare, manage and publish large collections of documents. Lexum has been innovating for many years to develop products that reduce the risks and costs involved in managing, publishing and providing access to information. In both cases, Lexum’s solut

ion democratizes access to high-quality technology that would otherwise be costly and much less available to the clients. Lexum’s clients receive worry- and investment-free professional information management, publishing and search services hosted on Lexum’s servers but integrated into their own web or intranet sites. Lexum also offers turnkey solutions and tailored services designed to optimize the way that organizations access, manage and publish information. Lexum began operating in 1993, with a collaboration with the Supreme Court of Canada to publish the Court’s decisions on the Internet. Since then, Lexum has had the opportunity to provide a wide range of consulting, design, development, hosting and support services for many Canadian legal institutions, including the Courts Administration Service (CAS), Canada's Department of Justice, and the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, to name only a few. Beyond Canada's borders, Lexum also develops solutions and provides long-term support for a number of international organizations, such as the International Telecommunication Union and the International Trade Centre. Lexum’s most well-known undertaking is undoubtedly the services it provides to the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) with respect to the design, creation and operation of the CanLII website: www.canlii.org. Lexum's multidisciplinary team is composed of experts in computer science, law and information sciences. Lexum is a founding member of the Free Access to Law Movement, which brings together more than 30 organizations around the world. When we take into consideration all of the sites that it has designed and operated, Lexum has been one of the leading Canadian publishers of legal information on the Internet since the 1990s.
