In a strong statement of solidarity, eleven cultural organizations in Montreal have officially endorsed or reasserted their endorsement of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), highlighting their commitment to the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The organizations supporting this initiative are joining a growing global movement of artists, academics, and cultural workers committed to supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation and self-determination. These organizations hope that more groups will adopt PACBI across Quebec and Canada.

To date, the following organizations have united their efforts to support or reaffirm their commitments to PACBI: Ada X, articule, Atelier La Coulée, Céline Bureau, Centre Clark, Centre des arts actuels SKOL, Dazibao, Metonymy Press, Oboro, PME-ART, and Vidéographe.

Grace Kwan continues their mini book tour this evening in Toronto at Another Story Bookshop. If you wanna learn more about the collection, you can read/watch more about the process behind The Sacred Heart Motel in this Pancouver interview.

Many poets fall in love with their artform in childhood or as teens. Kwan, on the other hand, started writing poetry in grad school at SFU.

Read Palestine Week is coming to a close. In case you haven't heard, during this week, Publishers for Palestine is encouraging people around the world to read fiction and poetry by Palestinian and Palestinian diaspora authors, as well as nonfiction about Palestinians and Palestinian history, politics, arts, culture, and life, and other books about organizing, resistance, and solidarity for a Free Palestine. We read – publicly and in community – as part of the global resistance to genocide.

A number of events have been taking place across the week, and there's a reading list that's being made available for free throughout the week. The Free Palestine Reading List will be available til December 5; all titles are available through links on the Publishers for Palestine website. Metonymy has one book available, and there are so many more! Check out the books and publishers, and let's continue to read, resist, and rise up

Solidarity with Canada Post workers currently on strike! Just a quick note to say that our web orders to destinations within so-called Canada are usually transported by CUPW employees and we therefore won’t be shipping any out so long as the strike is ongoing. We appreciate your patience and understanding! If you live in the Montreal area, local pickup is always an option. Plus we’ll be tabling and the bookfair over the next three weeks. AND now is a great time to get your books directly from your favourite indie store.

One of the sheer brilliances of Kwan’s book is turning migration into a love poem and love into a migration.
