A young man was going through a hard time in life and he decided that he had had enough. Angry and upset he called out “God, why did you give me such a hard life? Don’t you see that I have enough going on and I just cannot possibly take anything else on!” God replied, “My child, why do you think I have given you more than you can bear? Do you doubt me? I only want what is best for you.” The young man stood there & thought before he responded. Finally he said, “Yes, this is just too much for me. I am strong and fit but I just cannot handle all of this right now.” God said “Okay, then come with me. I have something to show you.” Complying, the young man followed God down this hallway and into a room he had never seen before. This room was huge, multiple football fields in length. It seemed as though it would spread out for miles. But the most surprising thing about the room, was that it was filled with crosses. Some were taller than buildings, some mere inches tall, all were different in one way or another. The smaller crosses were made from lightweight wood while the giant crosses seemed to be made from railroad ties-big, thick, and massive pieces of wood comparable to that of tree trunks. It seemed as though thousands of crosses filled this room. Awe struck the young boy’s face and God looked at him and smiled. “Inside this room, is a cross for every person on Earth. I have designed each of these crosses just as I have designed each individual human being. This is the weight you bear in life. Go ahead and take a few minutes to walk around this room. You feel that the cross I have designed for you is simply too much, so I am giving you a chance to go ahead and pick a new one. So take as long as you need, and choose a new cross for you to bear. I will be waiting outside.” With that, God left the young man to himself. Looking around the room, he began to get to work. Some of the crosses were just out of the question right off the bat. There was no way he could carry around a cross bigger than his pick-up. But then again, some of the crosses were so weak and small that he felt as though he would be less of a man by choosing one of the small ones. After searching extensively through the room, he finally found the one he wanted. It was the same height as the young man & was made of a very strong oak wood. It was heavy, as well as very durable, but not so heavy that it would be impossible to carry. Feeling confident in that he had found the perfect new cross for him to bear, he walked out of the room to where God was waiting. Confused by the look of amusement upon God’s face, he asked Him what was so funny. “It is admirable that you would choose a cross of this size and weight. It will not be easy to carry this each day, my son, but know that you can do it if this is your desire.” The young man nodded his head but still insisted that God tell him what was so funny! “My child, you had all the crosses in the world to choose but you decided upon this very one. Turn it around & you will find the original owner’s name carved in the back.” The young man did so but was shocked to find that on the back of this cross, the new one he had chosen, was his name. HIS NAME! How was this possible? He needed a new cross to bear, his old one was simply too much! He turned to God & said “This must be a mistake. What I was going through was just too much. There is no way I chose the same one.” God replied with “My child, I am with you always. I created you to be you and no one else. I created your cross to bear for you and only you. There is no coincidence here. I will never give you a cross you cannot bear. In times of need, simply cry out to me. Pray about it instead of talking about it. I will never leave you nor forsake you.” & with that He was gone.. ✨🌠💕🏹
