Much to the chagrin of David Lee Roth, in 1983, Eddie Van Halen started to spend less time on his guitar, and more time exploring the potential of synthesizers. The result of that experimentation was Van Halen's album 1984, released on January 9, 1984. Eddie's instincts were vindicated when the album ended up reaching number 2 on the U.S. album charts. Randy Renaud revisits the story behind that classic album this afternoon at 2 on the Chronicles of Rock.

A developer in Sydney, Australia has accidentally demolished the childhood home of AC/DC members Angus and Malcolm Young. Last month, Burwood Square Pty Ltd bulldozed a house located at 4 Burleigh Street in Burwood, Sydney, where the Young brothers first formed their band as teenagers. More at CHOM.com.
