Confession 🚨

I have no reel for today.

For the first time in maybe 5 months, I am not posting a reel on a Monday.

🙈 And guess what? I’ll survive.

❓ You know what’s worse than burnout?

Being so burnt out that you don’t even realize how bad until you’re forcibly removed from the situation.

I went on vacation with my family for Passover. I was dreading this “ forced “ step back from work. But you know what? I was so desperate for it, i just didn’t know!

So here i am, ready to get back into the hustle and bustle of things, but i need your help.

📱 Today I will be batching reels, touching base with VIP Clients, and making sure my team is on track for our monthly clients.

It’s about to get real hectic, but i don’t want to drive myself to that point of burnout again.

Hey yall, my name is Shevy and im 28 years old (almost 29 😱)!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 I am a wife and a mom of 3! (I have a 7 year old, a 4 year old and an 18 month old)

🙌 The Shevy Method came to be when i was on maternity leave after having my third baby. I told my husband that i wanted to take that time to start something on my own, in order to not have to go back to work for someone else.

On the other hand, the flip side of a insta growth spurt is a surge of clients and work.
I'd be lying if i was saying i haven't been feeling progressively more and more run down.

🏖 I went to miami this weekend (girls trip!), and filled up my cup with some much needed rest, fun, laughter, and sun.

I am getting back on my flight today, rejuvenated, excited, full of new ideas, and SO EXCITED to get back to work.

Checkup on your Instagram Health!

👩🏻‍🏫I always say followers are the biggest vanity metric on insgtagram, but you know what's not? Engagement rate. Your engagament rate on instagram is everything.
🚨Making sure to check up on that rate at least once per month is super important and is a basic part of your instagram strategy.

Your ultimate guide to stories 🔥

💵 Stories are one of the best tools you have at your disposal to SELL on instagram!

While stories reach your audience only, so they wont make your following grow, they are one oif the main ways to build that rapport and trust with your followers.
💡At the end of the day people wil buy from you because they trust and like you. Stories are where you'll make that happen.

💣Bonus Tip: Always post on stories in the half hour before you engage. You can tease your upcoming post with some sort of a poll, or just post about something non related. The main thing is to post, while showing your face.

I did something i NEVER thought id do 😨

Yesterday, i turned off my Instagram Notifications on my phone. And i dont think ill be turning them back on.

📱 ""But how? Instagram is your job!""
A week ago i would have said the exact same thing. But heres what happened betweem then and now.
The feelings of burnout started to get pretty unbearable. The constant notifications showing up on my phone started to progressively give me more and more anxiety until i dreaded seeing my phone light up. Being that im a perfectionist i feel the need to address these notifications as soon as they come up, to the detriment of my mental health.

So i thought, let me turn them off for one day and see what happens.

Here are 3 immediate changes i noticed:

✨i felt more relaxed, focused and calm throughout the day
✨ i was able to get off my phone before bed way earlier than i usually do (more sleep yay)
✨I still spent a lot of time on the app (it is my job after all), but the time i spent was focused, and to the point, doing exactly what i needed to do instead of mindless scrolling.

If you’re feeling like social media has a overtaken your life, try to turn off these notifications for one day, and tell me how you feel.

I love that the algorithm shows me what I want to see. I trust the algo.
If you’re thinking your posts will finally get seen, and you don’t need to level up, your mindset is completely wrong.

The algorithm the way it is now keeps us on our toes and pushes us to bring out the most dope content.

When i say “engage”, what do i mean?

Spending some time engaging is not negotiable when it comes to your instagram strategy.

Engaging can be liking, commenting, sharing, and dming.

💡Bear in mind that liking someone’s content doesn’t form much of a connection. You really want to focus on community building and individual relationships.

✉️ My personal favourite is dms. They’re such a fun way to get to know my community and interact daily!

This week is about to be CRAZY for me.

For starters tonight begins the Jewish Holiday of Chanukah, 8 nights of candles, joy, fun, donuts, and presents.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦This means lots of family time on top of everything else. In addition to that I’ll be travelling this week to get a little bit of sunshine.

But guess what, I’ll still be here every single day sharing Instagram business tips with you all.
Because I’ve batched it in advance!

The only way to be able tu run your business and show up in a quality way on social media is to batch your content. They’re is no other doable way!

❓Do you have a batching schedule?
Mine is as follows:
Each Friday I plan out the coming week, if I know things will get hectic I’ll do 2 weeks at a time.

With Reels I try not to batch too far in advance because trending sounds don’t stick around for that long.

Also I want to add that many times I go fully off script and decide to create and post something completely different based on my mood. That’s ok! Because I know there’s a script there to fall back on if needed.

Use these features to GROW on instagram:

Now that you know Instagram will give you a boost for using new features, you should always make sure to incorporate new features in your strategy.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, and these feel like too much, take a breath.

Try to challenge yourself to use at least one new feature each week. And if you can try 2, even better!

These 3 markers all point back to one thing:

Engagement Rate:

If you account was originally personal and suddenly it’s business related, your engage,ent rate will suffer too much. Your better off starting again.

Same with your business switching niches. Your existing audience is very likely not interested in this new niche, usually better to start again.

And if you mass bought followers back when it was all the rage, you probably have over 10k and you feel it would hurt to loose them. Give them up. 10 engaged followers will serve you way better than 10,000 ghost accounts.

I’m about to simplify your life:

🤔 You already know that your offer needs to be geared towards a specific person.

You hear it time and time again, “create content for your ideal client”, but let’s say you already started your business a while ago and have no clue how to niche at this point?

Look inwards first:

👀 Look at your current clients. Analyse them, especially the ones that are loyal, and that you simply click with. Your “people”.

I guarantee you, that you will find something in common between them.

Start there,

And then look deeper.

Look at their gender, age, where they live, their habits, and what attracted them to you.

💡 You may just realise that there are many similarities and that you’re already servicing and selling to your ideal client.

Now you can gear your strategy towards addressing similar people to them at every stage of your content creation, and completely sell out!

Like if you’ve never considered this but it actually makes a lot of sense to you!

[SAVE] You know what all these thoughts have in common?

🔥 One thought: “it’s like they read my mind!”

And that is absolutely the truth.
When your strategy is well thought out, you know everything about your ideal client and all their pain points.

🧙So essentially yes, you become a mind reader.

🧐 When you know who your audience is and who you’re talking to, it then becomes very easy to gear your content to them and them ONLY.

🚀 Save this post for the following challenge: next time you prepare your content, take the extra time to give it this “thought bubble” test. If your content can induce a similar thought to one of the bubbles, you know you’re on the right track!
