Back in 2019, myself and my childhood friend Nick Trusiak started our own production company called InviteOnly. Our goal was to create a positive, safe and progressive work environment, that aims to bring local artist's vision to life. We have been very fortunate in our mission, and have had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented, and kind individuals who's trust in me and my team has been a true blessing.
One of these talented individuals goes by the name "Chad Ashe", and I feel personally responsible to tell you all about my incredible experience working with him. Despite us being employed to do a job, it never felt like that for a second. The vibe and energy on set was so positive and everyone was super motivated by the fantastic song and uplifting tones of the project. Chad and Kim (Chad's girlfriend) both welcomed me and my team with open arms to their family's home. Besides their absolute professionalism on set, they went above and beyond even inviting us to join them for lunch where they fed us an incredible home cooked meal. I could go on forever about this wonderful, wholesome experience, and I personally feel that the footage we captured really reflects the energy and positive mood of the day. Linked below is the music video we made and I encourage you to read the description, as Chad explains in his words what the song/video means.
In my eyes, the video showcases a fun summer afternoon in the life of a couple who have a fun and healthy relationship. They go for a drive, enjoy a nice home cooked meal together, and share some laughs by the pool! There is no cursing or explicit content, and in my opinion this is a refreshing role model for young couples. Unfortunately, this is where the story takes an unexpected turn.
Chad is a teacher at a Châteauguay high school and On November 12, he was suspended from work because of a complaint pertaining to the content of this music video. He is still fighting the school boards decision and I feel this story is incredibly important to share given my personal experience working with Chad. I encourage you all to check out the video, as well as some local media coverage on this story and hopefully see for yourself just how misinformed this school board decision is.
Chad is an incredible role model, and any student would be lucky to have him as a teacher. He is doing amazing things to move the culture forward and you can show your support by spreading awareness of this injustice. I thank you for your time and I hope to have a more positive update on the situation soon!
