JC: Well, here's a first. A photo with one of the founding members of tonight's Vinyl Vault program, not from 5 or 10 years ago ... but from TODAY. Yes, June 21st, 2025. That's me with Jim Henman, original bassist and co-lead vocalist of April Wine. He met Myles Goodwyn in 1963, and they would be the best of friends for the next sixty years. And today, Jim sounded amazing at his gig this afternoon in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where it all started for April Wine. Thanks to Jim for all of his help and recollections for tonight's show, as we feature April Wine's fourth studio album, "Stand Back", released 50 years ago this week. On our national listening party, the Vinyl Vault. Tonight at 9PM on the Mighty Q. The band moved 1200 kilometres from their Maritimes home, without a gig to play or a place to stay. Led by a man who turned his personal tragedy into beautiful melodies, and p***y, rebellious anthems. The story of April Wine's climb to fame, and the album that set a new standard for Canadian bands, the first to go Double Platinum in their home country. And the crazy stories from the early days of a growing national music biz. It's April Wine's "Stand Back". And tomorrow night, we'll hear it in its entirety on The Vinyl Vault with JC Douglas, who just found some of his autographed April Wine LP's!!
