To God Be the Glory, EVERYONE! Genesis 22:7 says, "Isaac spoke to Abraham, his father and said, 'My father?' And he said, 'Here I am, my son.' Then he said, 'Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?'"
When we read this story, we often focus on Abraham's faith, his willingness to obey God no matter the cost. But tucked within this powerful moment is another remarkable truth: Isaac's quiet obedience and trust. Imagine this young man, strong enough to carry the wood for his own sacrifice, yet gentle enough to yield to his father. The Bible never says Isaac struggled, rebelled, or ran. He trusted his father, even when he didn't understand what was happening.
That's a picture of the kind of faith God desires from us. Sometimes life puts us on the "altar", in situations that make no sense, moments where we feel helpless or uncertain. We ask, "Lord, what's happening? Why me?" But like Isaac, we are called to trust the heart of our Father when we can't see the whole plan.
Isaac's story reminds us that God never intends to destroy us, but to display His glory through our obedience. Just as Abraham trusted that "God Himself will provide the lamb," we too can rest knowing that Christ became that Lamb for us. Because of Him, we are not the sacrifice; we are the redeemed.
So when you find yourself facing the fire or feeling tied down by life's challenges, remember: God is not trying to harm you. He's shaping your faith, testing your trust, and preparing your testimony. Like Isaac, choose to rest in your Father. His plan is perfect, His timing sure, and His Love unfailing. Trust Him, He always provides.
Now, Saints, children of God, united in our faith and Love for the Lord, let's continue to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth, as we put on the whole armour of God to take our stand against the devil's schemes.
