PRAISE THE LORD! To God be the Glory! Proverbs 13:7 says, "There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; and one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches."
Life has a way of exposing what we truly value. Some people chase wealth with both hands, running hard after status, applause, and the shiny things that fade. From the outside, they look full, overflowing even, yet inside there's an emptiness money can't patch. Scripture tells the truth plainly: you can stack riches to the ceiling and still live in a quiet poverty of the soul. There's no joy in treasures that don't touch the heart. There's no peace in possessions that can't hold you when life gets rough.
On the other hand, there are those who live simply, give freely, and pour themselves out for others. To the world, they may look "poor," lacking the glitter that turns heads, yet heaven calls them rich. Why? Because they carry something deeper than dollars: contentment, gratitude, compassion, and a heart anchored in God. These are the treasures no thief can steal, and no recession can shake. These riches don't rust, don't age, don't fail. They grow.
This verse challenges us to check our balance sheet, not the one at the bank, but the one within. Are we spending our strength chasing what won't last? Are we measuring ourselves by the world's scoreboard? Or are we investing in what heaven counts valuable: love, faithfulness, humility, and a life that honours God?
Real wealth is not measured by what fills your hands but by what fills your heart. True riches are found in walking with God, serving with joy, and living with purpose. When you choose those things, you may not have everything the world offers, but you'll possess everything the soul needs.
That, my friend, is wealth that never runs dry.
