Rest in power, Shanaya.

Ishq-e-Laa's latest episode has fans at the edge of their seats as Sajal Aly's powerful character Shanaya Ahmed passed away. Azaan Sami Khan, who plays her husband in the show, has taken a moment to gather his thoughts and honour the voice of a woman who, like countless others, has been lost to injustice while fighting for the right cause.

"In a world rampant with violence against women and a justice system that is crippled to favour the powerful, Shanaya Ahmed was a figure that represented the countless lives that we as a nation and world have lost to injustice," the actor captioned his Instagram post with a photo of Shanaya's gravesite attached.

It's official!

If you've been wondering who'll sing the PSL anthem this year, well wonder no more. Singers Atif Aslam and Aima Baig will be the voices behind the anthem, a "fun and catchy" song produced and composed by Abdullah Siddiqui.

The PSL will begin on January 27, the first match being between the Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans, and there's nothing like an uplifting song to get you in the mood for the game. This year's anthem will see the return of Baig who also featured in last year’s PSL anthem 'Groove Mera' alongside Young Stunners and Naseebo Lal. Aslam will be singing for the event for the very first time.

The Indian police arrested a hoax caller for threatening to blow up several locations in Mumbai, including a railway station near Bollywood mega star Shah Rukh Khan’s residence.

A man has been detained in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh for making a bomb threat call to the Mumbai police on January 6. The caller identified himself as "Jitesh Thakur" from the Indian Army and threatened an attack in Mumbai at various places with the use of "nuclear bombs", including the Kurla railway station near Khan's bungalow Mannat.

Praying for a speedy recovery.

Bollywood's iconic playback singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to a hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus on Saturday.

According to the Times of India, the 92-year-old singer was admitted to the ICU of Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19. Alongside Covid-19, Mangeshkar is also reportedly suffering from pneumonia.

Indian poet and screenwriter Javed Akhtar has landed himself in hot water after tweeting a suggestion that women victims can "educate" the 18-year-old alleged mastermind behind Bulli Bai — an app where Muslim women were offered for a sale — and forgive her.

The auction list on the application included the names and pictures of multiple Indian Muslim women as well as other prominent Muslim women such as Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai and Akhtar's wife Shabana Azmi.

Director Asim Raza's 2019 rom-com Parey Hut Love has won the Best Film in Wholesome Entertainment award at the South Asia Forum for Art and Creative Heritage (SAFACH)'s International Film Festival.

SAFACH is South Asia's first borderless-international travelling film festival. It arranged its third edition this month from Dec 18 to Dec 23 in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Raza shared the award on his Instagram account with a note to his team. "Congratulations to the most amazing team in the world, I am so blessed to be a part of you."
