Breaking Wreckords was formed in 2012 with the collaboration of Ryan Innes and Kelly Maloney. Since he was young, Ryan Innes has been passionate about creating new, innovative music across various aspects within his community. Kelly Maloney has grown up with a focus on live hip-hop performances and creating new outlets for upcoming artists. Eventually, Ryan Innes studied Audio Production and Engin
eering at Metalworks Institute of Sound & Music Production where he developed skills in business management, audio recording and mastering. Kelly and Ryan quickly collaborated based on their common skills and outlook on the music industry as a whole. The duo agreed on the need of hip-hop in the GTA, and has decided to focus on the needs for the Canadian music culture. With hard work and dedication over the past few years, Breaking Wreckords has been able to build important connections within the greater music scene, and have effectively spread their name all over Toronto and the GTA. Together they’ve worked with huge names in hip hop such as Rick Ross, Spesh K, Gucci Mane, Tech N9ne, Big Shug, Classified, Edo G, Kid Vishish, Joell Ortiz of Slaughter House, Masta Ace, Bishop Brigante, Peter Jackson, Pace Won, Ghettosocks and many more. With their passion and background in music and business, Kelly and Ryan decided to form Breaking Wreckords, which is made up of many branches, including the radio station, promoting live performances and running Breaking Wreckords Studios. Breaking Wreckords Radio, which airs on Maximum FM in Toronto, features Ryan and Kelly hosting an array of new and upcoming hip hop artists, as well as promoting local shows and venues. The radio station is tailored to the talented hip-hop community, and creates opportunity for many young and eager artists to become a part of their local music scene. Kelly and Ryan also focus their airtime on interviewing hip-hop legends, such as; Classified, Edo G, Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, Louie Rankin, Kid Vishis, Joell Ortiz, Masta Ace, Kush Mcloud, Rich kidd, Smif-n-Wessun, Bishop Brigante of KOTD, Peter Jackson, Pace Won, Ghettosocks and many many more. In doing so, Breaking Wreckords has gained support of many Canadian and International hip-hop stars. From the interviews that they do, to the always astonishing guests on their shows, their quality of work is always unmatched.
