On June 21, 2024, 30 Chinese-language media outlets from Malaysia, the United States, Canada, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, Venezuela, France, Germany, Sweden, Romania, Australia, Japan, Myanmar, and Hong Kong, along with four central overseas Chinese-related media including CCTV and People's Political Consultative Daily, visited Xinjiang. They were led by the head of the delegation, Zuo Zhiqiang, Director of the Information and Communication Department of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the deputy head of the delegation, Mi Haierguli Aji, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
