Sixteen-year-old Naila Moloo, a past writer for Polar Expressions, has published her second book, Chronicles of Illusions: Bound by Dreams, which is already placing across magical realism bestseller lists.

The book centres around two main characters: Anya and Ora, who try to solve the mystery of their brother Dax’s modified memory after travelling through their house’s secret athenaeum. From Ora having repetitive nightmares to ethereal music coming from the woods to hearing a man’s voice in their house at night, she and Anya know something is unravelling directly under their noses and it must be somehow connected to Dax. Ora and Anya are separated and forced to face their pasts, revealing secrets that threaten to tear apart what they have built.

If you’re looking for a fantasy novel where magic meets mystery, you can purchase the book here: https://www.amazon.ca/Chronicles-Illusions-Dreams-Naila-Moloo/dp/B0B19PBMLX/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1651770954&sr=8-1

I recently read Love Songs by Sara Teasdale. It was a Pulitzer Prize winner in 1918. The language did not show its age other than the spelling of to-night, and it was lovely, simple, and thoughtful.

We are a small Canadian publisher dedicated to the task of creating books showcasing the very best poems and short stories written by Canadians of varying backgrounds, ages, and occupations. We believe all Canadians should have an opportunity to share their work and see what their peers are thinking about. We want to provide that important venue so they are able to write about these things in a positive environment.

We run four competitive contests each year.

Open year-round, in spring, we announce our annual national poetry contest as well as our annual national short-story contest. These are both free contests aimed at writers of all ages (writing for an audience of their peers). Their purpose is to encourage Canadians of all ages to use writing as an outlet for expressing their thoughts and emotions.

In early September, we announce our annual national student writing contests for children and youth in kindergarten through grade twelve. Our intent is to provide a free yet valuable tool to educators to encourage their students and to inspire a lifelong enchantment with poetry and prose.
