5 Questions to ask your Wedding DJ!
1. What’s the DJing style? Do you engage with the audience? Open to requests?
2. Are you also an MC? You can typically count on your DJ to make announcements to keep your day on track and guide people to where they need to be. It’s rare but some don’t, so be sure you ask!
3. Is there a set playlist or will you improvise? A great DJ will know how to read the room and select music accordingly.
4. How do you handle requests? Will they play anything and everything or are they more strategic with how they fit in requests? How do they handle “do not play” lists?
5. What will you wear? Ask what their typical dress code is and if they’re open to dressing according to yours.

Three important things to remember when DJing a wedding. HINT: The last one is the most important!
It’s not just about showing up and creating the vibe. Ensure your experience, and most importantly your client’s experience is the best it can be by doing these three things.
TIMING: Make sure you’re showing up AT LEAST an hour before your set start time. This makes sure you have ample time to unpack your equipment, troubleshoot any issues, and prepare yourself for the event
TEST: Make sure everything is in working order, and you are testing your mic levels
BACK UP: What’s your plan B, C, D? Things go wrong. Be prepared. Also ensure you have someone on call to help if necessary.
