The Blackburn family has been shaping Canadian media for five generations, starting in 1852 with the purchase of the London Free Press. From print to radio, TV, and digital, we’ve been at the forefront of local storytelling and community service.

📰 In 1852, The Canadian Free Press was purchased by Josiah Blackburn and renamed The London Free Press.
🎙️ In 1922, Arthur Blackburn secured one of Canada’s first radio licenses, launching CJGC-AM.
📻 By 1933, CFPL-AM was born, bringing local radio to London, ON.
📺 In 1953, CFPL-TV hit the airwaves, expanding Blackburn’s reach into television.
🎧 The 90s marked our expansion across Ontario, with stations in Chatham, Sarnia, and Leamington.
🔊 In 2021, we evolved into Blackburn Media Inc., reflecting our commitment to blending traditional and digital media for today’s audiences.
