✨️And, in a first for the borough, congratulations to Millie Quinn! is named Wandsworth Youth Mayor to represent young people.
She was chosen by members of the Wandsworth Youth Council.

✨️Cllr Jafri was last year’s Deputy Mayor. She is an immigration lawyer and a mum of two who was born in Tooting and still lives there. She volunteers with local youth groups and charities, campaigns for equality and human rights, and has raised funds for St George’s Hospital

Tonight, we were passing the famous local pub, Asparagus JD Wetherspoon, and it was sad to see it's officially closed. It's a local symbol, and it was always bustling with locals on Friday evenings. 🍻

The sight of its closed doors and darkened windows made us think about the financial crisis nowadays.
Pubs are a British tradition, but now people prefer to spend more time at home and save their money instead of going out. It touches many areas of our lives.

That's why it is even more important to support each other and small local businesses 💪❤️

Wetherspoons will be losing some more locations in 2024. The pub giant permanently closed 41 of its locations in 2023 and has 20 branches up for sale in 2024.
