Winter is a magical time of year, cold cozy days in front of the fire, a slow down time of year where projects are paused to spend time with family, and of course the countdown to Christmas! 🎅

We've spent the last year putting these rudders to the test in some of the harshest conditions the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

The last video from our 7-part kayak fishing trip to the West Coast of Vancouver Island. If we had to sum up the entire trip in one sentence it would be "Kayak Fishing is HARD!" but that's what makes every catch so rewarding, and every fish so memorable.

What makes all the effort spent dragging 150lb kayaks up and down the beach, the hours and hours spent pedaling in wind and swells, the sea sickness, and endless tackle changes worth it?

Kayak Fishing is a sport like no other, it's chaos, it's frustrating, it's intense and it's exhausting, but it's moments like these that make it all worthwhile, and keep us dreaming of the next trip out! 💙🎣

Happy Sunday!

One of the best things about living and kayak fishing on Vancouver Island, is the wide variety of fish we are able to target from the Kayaks!

When the Salmon bite slows down that doesn't mean our day is over, so we switch to targeting the 38 different species of Rockfish our waters have to offer!
