No solar eclipse here for us today. It’s pouring rain so I’m having an inside work day. I’m going to move food up from the basement to the new butlers pantry I made in the mudroom.

Too bad it doesn’t come with a butler 🤭

Sorry. I just can’t 🫣

A foot of snow up here in Whistler along with very little fresh ingredients in the fridge led me to make Faux Pho. I use boxed stock, aromatics (onion garlic ginger) and pantry spices (star anise). I also had cooked turkey wings left over from Christmas dinner in the freezer so I threw those in. I let that all simmer for an hour then strained out the solids and cooked the rice noodles in the broth. I had left over shrimp from the night before dinner of lemon garlic shrimp gnocchi. I also had parsley. I simply put it all together.

Soup is my superpower. Making dinner out of seemingly nothing is my other. I’m going to blog exactly how I did this.

The new blog is in the works and we are working so hard to perfect it (fingers crossed) by the end of January.

We Bought The Farm

Yes, it’s true. We bought the family farm and now it’s time to go home and make it ours. I’ve loved playing dress up in the city, but it’s time to get back to my roots and for life to come full circle.

With this new adventure comes a LOT of sweat equity and elbow grease, and I for one cannot wait to unleash my creativity and style on this special home and piece of property. On the list of things to do includes renovating a 70s two story box into something magical for our family to enjoy. My challenge is to do this on a budget. I’m talking a really tight budget since we have already renovated the Little Farmhouse beside it.

Does this scare me? Not at all. In fact, after many contractor-led renovations I’m excited to get back into getting my hands dirty and putting my handy-woman skills to work. I used to be so hands on back in the day, and products to pull off a professional looking DIY are far more abundant than when I last did this, so venturing back into the world of sweat equity has me enthused and chomping at the bit to get going.

Does this mean I will be giving up on fashion/style. Not at all. It’s still me after all. What this means is that I get to add even more of my style in all areas of my life to the contents of this page. Beyond fashion, I am passionate about food and home decor. My style is wrapped up in all of it so I can’t wait to share.
