As a marketplace for buying and selling helicopter parts, we were thrilled to help take Rotorcrew's website to new heights.

Our goal was clear: to craft a website that was approachable, easy to use, and had a modern design that streamlined the experience for both sellers and buyers when searching, filtering, and categorizing parts.

From the bold colour palette to the meticulous consideration of the user flow, every element of the site focuses on creating a seamless user experience.

Inspired by famed Swiss designer—and grid pioneer—Josef Muller-Brockmann, the logo for utilizes a grid to achieve a harmonious balance of elements.

Introducing Honeystone, premium single-detached and townhomes in Heritage Heights, West Brampton. 🍯

We approached the naming and branding of the development from an aspirational lifestyle perspective, taking queues from the premium retail space to differentiate Honeystone in West Brampton - a region that's experiencing a building boom with many choices for buyers in the market.

The identity's HHH acronym 'Honeystone at Heritage Heights' is transformed into an icon rich with symbolism; the shape subtly alluding to honeycomb to pay off the name, and the layered and interconnected letterforms conjure impressions of quality construction and an intertwined community core tenets of DECO's design philosophy.

"As a designer, I bring a variety of influences to my work. Drawing from my background as a visual artist, particularly my focus on nostalgic themes, I aim to distill my designs by emphasizing elements that create captivating narratives, much like my approach to painting. This method results in designs characterized by a sense of spaciousness, allowing the primary subject to take centre stage while guiding the viewer through an immersive visual journey.

Recently, I was lucky enough to work with the team at Christie on creating some visuals for their LED MicroTiles. It was an amazing opportunity to bring design and my art together—resulting in large, vibrant, animated paintings used as display pieces to demonstrate their impressive display technology."

Our second design diet, featuring Holland.

"I’d describe my design diet as a combination of my family’s European heritage — the beauty and detail of traditional Hungarian folk art — combined with my own curiosity relative to nature. I specifically love collecting items like rocks, shells, and plants.

Earlier this year we worked with an account to brand a new build — they loved the idea of the identity having a folk-art aspect with a traditional feel. We explored symbolism with the sparrow which spoke to the region and the product, while the flora was meant to pay homage to the larger parent development’s logo. In the end, the client opted for a different direction, but it was one of those rare projects that was perfect for exploring in my personal aesthetic and was a ton of fun to create.”

Back to school season has got the studio chatting about the things we love, and our unique 'design diets' that inspire and invigorate us to keep creating... And a recent project that embodies why we wanted to get into design in the first place!

We're kicking things off with Andrew.

"My design diet, when I'm 'eating gourmet', is going new places, absorbing and collecting, and recycling into my work when possible. Pretty sustainable minus the plane rides.
Most recently, a tour through Italy was a goldmine for collecting textures, palettes, and most importantly beautiful, and beautifully ugly, typography.

My wife and I have a massive shared folder full of signage, hoarding, hand-painted street signs, sewer grates — you name it. I also squirrel away any interesting piece of collateral I get, from exhibition pamphlets to greasy focaccia wrappers — all gracefully jammed into a bag from a Design Biennale in Brno we were lucky to catch a few years ago. It's one of my favourite things to reference and a reminder that great inspiration comes from everywhere.

Activate was a favourite recent project of mine that I would've loved to do going into school. I live for identity work and the interactive element to this product and brand system made the research component extremely entertaining."

Kitchener Blues Fest is back—and we are amped. Him and Her is proud to support the Kitchener Blues Festival, donating creative services for nearly all core festival marketing materials for five years running.

KBF is a leading Canadian festival, hosting over 70 performances and workshops. They’re able to draw massive audiences from all over North America—and beyond. Each year we develop a new theme to promote the festival where we strive to bring contemporary styles that keep blues fans coming back and attract new fans.

Even in the height of Covid lockdowns, KBF pushed hard to bring live music to an entertainment-starved city through summer series concerts which we supported with design work that brought the patio vibes that were desperately needed.

Looking forward to another killer festival. 🤘🎷

This was the foundation for a clever, flexible identity that represented the aspirations and discovery process of urban home buyers, using the mark as binoculars to pinpoint their next dream home.
