As I prepare to receive the prestigious Alumni Brilliance Award from Brock University, it is a constant reminder that we shape our lives according to our choices. It doesn't matter where we came from, but where we are heading is what matters the most. The awards ceremony is set for June 13, 2025, at the beautiful Niagara Falls. The award was created to honor those who have made a mark locally, nationally, and internationally.

Here is my citation: "Dr. Narine Dat Sookram is an independent scientist, a dedicated social worker, educator, and advocate with extensive experience in employment services, mental health, and policy development. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University and a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University and has spent over three decades advancing workplace equity, supporting marginalized communities, and promoting inclusive hiring practices. His initiatives have provided vital resources to underprivileged groups, ensuring meaningful access to employment and mental health services."
