The choice of fonts is a very important step in creating your brand. It helps streamline your brand and allows you to stand out. The rule of thumb is to have 2 types of font and stick with them don’t switch it up(meaning use the same font with every post). Usually we go with one calligraphy font and one main font. You can switch up your main font by going Bold in the title, italics in the subtitle and regular in your subject.

These are a few of my fav fonts in Canva to use for the main font and for the calligraphy, my favs are Buffalo, Brittany and Daydream.

I have said this many times before, and I will keep saying until you get comfies with it!!! Showing up in video for your social media accounts is vital in building likebility, trust and allowing people to see a bit of your personality. Photo’s and static posts can only convey so much. We want to see YOU!!

I completely understand the fear factor about making videos or reels or TikTok’s. I have a really hard time with it myself (maybe that’s why I am not as consistent with them as I should be). It brings a certain vulnerability that makes some of us very uncomfortable with. Some of us are very hard on ourselves and overly picky.

You will be uncomfortable the first few times you do it, DO IT ANYWAY. You will make mistakes and have to do take after re-take, DO IT ANYWAY. It is awkward seeing yourself on camera, DO IT ANYWAY. My point is feel the fear, embrace the fear, take a deep breath and GO FOR IT!!!

My challenge for you, if you’ve never done a video or are very inconsistent with them, start off by doing 1-2 a week (remember they don’t have to be long, just effective)

You can do this. I believe in you 💯💞😘

Posting content without a well thought out caption is like sending a blank Christmas card. People get the idea (it’s a Christmas card, to them from you) but it’s not personal and it really has no meaning beyond Merry Christmas. Same as your caption. This is where you really get to describe what your point is and bring life to your post. If you have been posting without a detailed caption, let’s stop that.

When someone is constantly wanting to pick your brain for free, what do you do? ….. RUN 🤣

Not really, we all love helping people and at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about. HOWEVER, we all have businesses to run and money to make, so there has to be limits on what you freely give and what you charge for.

If someone finds the value in what your providing but doesn’t want to pay for it, it may be time to re-evaluate that interaction.

DON’T. DO. IT!!! It just doesn’t work. Quite frankly it’s almost a guaranteed way to lose your audience (bye bye) 👋

Put yourself in their shoes. Do you like getting DM’S from complete strangers trying to sell you something you didn’t ask for and don’t even want? No, it’s annoying and invasive.

My recommendation is to build relationships with your online community (which takes more time but way more valuable). Get them to see the value in your services/products. Solve problems for them, answer any questions they have and make some suggestions as you get a bit more familiar with them.

Let me talk to you for a minute. We can all relate to spending a lot of time coming up with brilliant ideas for a post, creating it, taking the time to write out a purposeful description, researching hashtags, doing our engagement and then finally posting. We think we nailed it and it’s going to go viral….and. It. Flops!!!!!!

We have ALL been there and trust me when I say, it will happen again. This is my encouragement though, don’t let one flop make you change your marketing strategy. KEEP GOING

Here’s what I would do. Try looking at your analytics to determine if there was anything you could’ve done differently. Such as post at a different time, was the post clearly targeted to your niche, evaluate your following to see if they are the right demographic for your business.

If need be make some minor adjustments and KEEP GOING!! There is no need to throw your whole strategy out the window over one post that didn’t soar. You’ll get them next time. I promise 😉

Don’t get me wrong, I do love trends and they do work BUT they are not unique! YOU ARE, your voice is! 🎙🗣
Try this for your next reel or TikTok. Use a trending audio and do a voice over (just like in this video) and share something valuable with your audience. Share a tip, a unique service you provide, something special that sets you a part from other businesses in your industry.

FACT: Gaining traction and growing your business online is directly linked to the effort you put in. If you’re finding your social accounts are a little flat, take a look at your daily habits and consider these:

1. Have you clearly identified your niche and know who your target clients are?
2. Are you bringing value to your online community? Giving them insight to your industry and solving problems for them?
3. Are you being consistent in your posts and stories? Whether you are posting 3, 5 or 7 days a week…stay committed and consistent.

When promoting your brand/business on your socials, remember these are social platforms for people to interact, build relationships and be social. Don’t just post and ghost!!! Communicating and supporting your online community is a vital component to growth and longevity in your industry.

I know we are all busy and you might be thinking, “I just don’t have the time”. Here’s the thing, we all have time for the things we prioritize. Building relationships in your business that lead to increase should be a priority for every business owner.

This is what I want you to do. Take 15-20 minutes everyday and connect with your followers. Like and comment on their posts (even if it’s just an emoji to show your support and encouragement), and show a genuine interest in what they are up to. They will be so grateful for the connection and it will come back to you 100 fold

Websites definitely have value and there is a place for them, however promoting the heck out of them on your social networks is NOT the thing to do.

Social networks are for your online community to experience you and your brand, experience your value, experience your products/service. It’s a place for you to build likability, trust and let people get to know you.

WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT - They develop brand consistency and identity, help clarify your niche, set guidelines for your content and simplify the planning process.

Before I go any further, do you know who your dream client is? Have you thought about who would most benefit from your service/products and who you would love to work with? Once that has been established, start building a rapport with them.

🌸 Solve their problems - let them see how your services/products can help them overcome their problems and achieve their goals.

🌸 Utilize your portfolio - don’t be afraid to show off your work and your successes. Create a portfolio to show your potential clients.

🌸 Reach out - just do it!!! Send your ideal client a message. It’s okay to use a template but make sure you personalize it.

🌸 First impressions - you are your account - make sure it is a true representation of you and your business.
